Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in substation electrical design.
• Experience in EPC, Power Transmission, Renewable Energy, Solar, BESS or infrastructure projects preferred.
• HV/EHV substation and switchyard experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for EHV AIS/GIS substations up to 400 kV.
• Manage design from Concept through Detailed Design.
• Develop and review design basis reports, specs, and studies.
• Coordinate with civil, protection & control, SCADA, and procurement teams.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Mentor the electrical design team to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Ensure designs comply with Grid Codes and IEC/IEEE/CIGRE/IS standards.
• Review vendor offers and drawings for GIS/AIS equipment.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Substation Electrical Design Manager with a minimum of

10+ years of relevant experience in substation and switchyard engineering.

The candidate will be responsible for leading and managing electrical design activities and

coordinating associated civil and structural design requirements for substation projects. The role

also involves managing engineering deliverables to ensure timely completion and submission of

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and engineering for EHV AIS/GIS substations up to 400 kV.
• Manage engineering activities from Concept Design, Pre-FEED/FEED through Detailed Design.
• Prepare and review Design Basis Reports, engineering philosophies, technical specifications and design studies.
• Develop and review SLDs, Protection SLDs, GA drawings, equipment layouts, plans and sections.
• Perform and review electrical calculations for transformers, generators, HV/MV/LV cables, CT/VT, UPS, DG, battery systems, conductors and auxiliary systems.
• Develop and review earthing, lightning protection, cable routing, illumination and AC/DC systems.
• Review technical specifications, vendor offers and drawings for GIS/AIS, transformers, switchgear, reactors, capacitor banks, STATCOM/SVC and other substation equipment.
• Ensure proper integration of primary systems with protection, control, SCADA, metering and communication systems.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable Grid Codes and IEC, IEEE, CIGRE, CBIP, IS and other relevant standards.
• Coordinate with Civil, Protection & Control, SCADA, Procurement, Project, Construction and Commissioning teams.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, utilities and vendors for technical discussions, design reviews and approvals.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning and resolution of site-related design issues.
• Support tendering, technical proposals, bid evaluations and technical due diligence for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Lead and mentor the electrical design team while ensuring technical quality and timely
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP or equivalent engineering software, MS Office.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in Substation Electrical Design and
• Experience in Power Transmission, Renewable Energy, Solar, BESS or EPC projects is
• Strong experience in HV/EHV Substations and Switchyards.
• Experience in EPC, Power Transmission, Renewable Energy, Solar, BESS, or
• Infrastructure projects will be preferred.
