Job summary

N Arc Consulting invites an experienced Substation Design Engineer to join its power infrastructure team in Delhi. You will design electrical substations (AIS/GIS), prepare layouts, SLDs, and technical documents, and ensure compliance with IS, IEEE, and IEC standards.

Key tasks include performing load flow, short-circuit, grounding and protection studies, reviewing vendor drawings, coordinating with clients, and producing detailed engineering deliverables for projects up to 765 kV.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engg.
• 5-7 years of experience
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IEEE, IEC, NEC)

Responsibilities

• Design electrical substations (132kV/220kV/400kV/500kV) per specs and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with Indian and international standards in substation design.
• Develop and review technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficient in primary and secondary substation designing.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs for substations (AIS/GIS) including layout, SLD, and schematics.
• Perform design calculations such as load flow, short circuit, grounding, and protection coordination.
• Review and approval of vendor drawings and equipment specifications.
• Assist with client meetings and resolution of technical queries.

Established in 2004, N Arc Consulting is a leading power infrastructure, advisory, and consulting firm with over 22 years of experience, specializing in Project Management Consultancy (T&D) and substation design up to 765 kV, with a strong domestic and global presence.

As a substation design engineer, you will be responsible for the design and engineering of EHV/HV substations, preparation of design drawings and technical documents, vendor drawing review, BOQ preparation, technical coordination, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical substations (132kV/220kV/400kV/500kV) in accordance with technical specifications, project requirements, and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Indian standards (e.g., IS 694, IS 2026, IS 3231) and international standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC) in substation design.
• Develop and review technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficient in primary and secondary substation designing
• Prepare detailed engineering designs for substations (AIS/GIS) including layout, single line diagrams (SLD), and schematics.
• Perform design calculations such as load flow, short circuit, grounding, and protection coordination.
• Should have worked on software like E Tap / CymeDIST/ Dialux
• Assist in the design and layout of electrical substations, including the selection and specification of electrical equipment.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and drawings for substation projects.
• Assist with the review and approval of vendor drawings and equipment specifications.
• Participate in client meetings and resolve technical queries.

Eligibility Criteria

• B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engg.
• 5 - 7 years of experience
