Technip Energies is seeking a Mechanical Lead Study Manager to oversee mechanical input across feasibility, conceptual, pre-FEED and front-end advisory scopes. You will ensure technical excellence, safety, and high-quality delivery as the primary interface for mechanical expertise globally for Genesis.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, review calculations, and support procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning phases while guiding design reviews and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• 10–15 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in upstream/downstream oil and gas FPSO projects.
• Strong communication and ability to work with global, multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials and fabrication methods.

About the Role

The Mechanical Lead Study Manager is responsible for leading, overseeing, and delivering mechanical input across multiple multi-center studies, including feasibility, conceptual, pre-FEED, and front-end advisory scopes. The role ensures technical excellence by serving as the primary interface for mechanical expertise throughout these studies, ensuring safe and efficient execution, high-quality delivery, and strong commercial stewardship—globally for Genesis.

Responsibilities

• As the Mechanical Lead, they will manage mechanical scopes across multiple studies, liaising with local and global mechanical engineers to ensure timely, within-budget, and high-quality completion of deliverables
• Monitor mechanical engineering scope progress, track deliverables, and assist in preparing management reports to support decision-making across multiple studies
• Be able to and check detailed engineering calculations and analysis to ensure the integrity, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems. Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimates for mechanical engineering projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including process, structural, electrical, and instrumentation engineers, to ensure integrated and optimized designs.
• Provide technical support during the procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO) and company procedures.
• Collaborate closely with client personnel and Genesis engineering specialists to ensure project compliance, quality, and alignment with Genesis standards for Mechanical Engineering competence
• Prepare and ensure clear, comprehensive mechanical input into study reports and presentations that effectively communicate findings and recommendations
• Mechanical Engineering input into integrated study plans aligned with asset planning and business objectives, facilitating effective communication and delivery of multidisciplinary studies
• Lead meetings, coordinate activities, and manage study performance to ensure objectives are met efficiently related to mechanical scopes
• Participate in design reviews, construction planning, HAZID/HAZOP sessions, and technical impact assessments to ensure safety and technical integrity.

• Collaborate with tendering teams to develop high-quality proposals and bid submissions in response to client inquiries

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's (preferred) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 10-15 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering for upstream and downstream oil and gas FPSO projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and fabrication methods.
• Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS) and analysis tools.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with project management and coordination is a plus.
• Able to work independently and within integrated local and virtual teams.
• Flexibility for ad-hoc travel both within India and abroad.
• Strong personal values and willing to take clear personal accountability for actions.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
