Weekday 1 is seeking a proactive Study Abroad Counsellor – US for its Pune-based operations. You will guide students and parents through overseas education journeys, assess academic goals, and outline suitable universities and courses.

The role covers end-to-end counselling from enquiry to admission, with a focus on the U.S. higher education landscape, timelines, and visa considerations. On-site, target-driven environment with regular client interactions.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of relevant experience in counselling or education sales.
• Strong study abroad knowledge, especially US higher education.
• Knowledge of USA study-abroad markets is an advantage.
• Ability to guide students through university selection, applications and admissions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Target-driven with ability to achieve counselling, conversion and enrolment goals.

The ideal candidate will combine strongstudy abroad knowledge, counselling skills, relationship management, and education sales experience with the ability to build trust and convert qualified enquiries into successful admissions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct professionalface-to-face counselling sessions with students and parents.

• Provide detailed guidance on U.S. universities, admission requirements, eligibility criteria, application timelines, and course options.
• Support students throughout the end-to-end application and admission process.
• Assist with application forms, documentation, university submissions, interviews, and visa-related requirements.
• Maintain regular communication with students and parents and provide timely updates throughout the counselling journey.
• Build strong relationships with prospective students and parents to establish trust and improve enrolment conversions.
• Manage and follow up on enquiries, leads, and prospective student applications.
• Work towards achievingmonthly counselling, conversion, and enrolment targets.
• Develop, manage, and expand relationships witheducation agents and channel partners.
• Leverage existing education-agent networks to generate qualified overseas education leads.
• Conduct regular follow-ups with channel partners and support them with relevant programme and admission information.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions, applications, follow-ups, and admissions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth student experience from enquiry through enrolment.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 1+ years of relevant experience, with 2–3 years of experience in education sales, counselling, or overseas education preferred.
• Strong hands-on knowledge ofstudy abroad counselling, particularly U.S. higher education.
• Knowledge ofUSA and Germany study-abroad markets is an advantage.
• Proven experience guiding students through university selection, applications, admissions, and related processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with students and parents.
• Excellent counselling, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to achievecounselling, conversion, and enrolment targets.
• Existing network ofeducation agents/channel partners supporting overseas education is highly desirable.
• Ability to develop, manage, and expand channel-partner relationships to generate qualified leads.
• Strong follow-up skills and a proactive approach to lead and student management.
• Ability to understand individual student circumstances and provide relevant, personalised guidance.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple students, applications, and deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a target-driven, customer-facing, and on-site environment.
• Proficiency in digital tools and CRM or student-management systems is an advantage.
• Graduation in any discipline is required; a postgraduate qualification is preferred.
