Job summary

Ampersand International Mobility (AIM) is seeking a proactive Study Abroad Education Counsellor to guide students through the international education journey. You will advise on countries, universities, and programs, and support the end-to-end application process.

Responsibilities include student/parent counselling, lead follow-up, CRM maintenance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely admissions and enrolment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline; Education, Business, Management, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • 1-4 years of study abroad counselling or related admissions/recruitment experience.
  • Familiarity with international education processes and visa basics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Counsel students and parents on study abroad opportunities based on goals and budget.
  • Guide applicants through country/university/course selections and timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely application processing.
  • Maintain CRM records and track counselling metrics and conversions.
  • Support seminars, webinars, and education fairs as needed.

As part of our expanding Study Abroad vertical, we are looking for a dynamic and student-focused Education Counsellor to guide students through their international education journey.

Role Overview

The Study Abroad Education Counsellor will counsel prospective students, understand their academic and career aspirations, recommend suitable international education options, and guide them through the application and admission process.

Key Responsibilities
Student Counselling
  • Counsel students and parents regarding study abroad opportunities based on academic background, interests, career goals, and budget.
  • Recommend suitable countries, universities, courses, and programs based on student requirements.
  • Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions through calls, meetings, and online platforms.
  • Address student and parent queries and provide accurate information throughout the counselling journey.
Lead Management & Conversion
  • Handle and follow up with assigned leads generated through marketing and business channels.
  • Maintain regular communication and timely follow-ups with prospective students.
  • Convert qualified leads into applications and successful admissions.
  • Maintain accurate student records, follow-ups, applications, and conversions on the CRM.
University & Course Guidance
  • Maintain strong knowledge of universities, courses, entry requirements, tuition fees, scholarships, and application timelines.
  • Help students shortlist programs and institutions aligned with their academic and career objectives.
  • Stay updated on university requirements, admission criteria, intakes, and international education trends.
Application Support
  • Guide students through the end-to-end application process.
  • Assist with documentation, application forms, SOPs, LORs, CVs, and other admission requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely application processing.
  • Track application status and keep students informed of important updates.
Student Relationship Management
  • Build strong relationships with students and parents.
  • Provide regular updates and ensure a smooth student experience.
  • Address concerns and coordinate internally to resolve student queries.
Coordination & Reporting
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Business Development, Applications, Visa, and Operations teams.
  • Maintain daily/weekly activity and conversion reports.
  • Track counselling metrics, applications, offer letters, enrolments, and conversions.
  • Participate in seminars, webinars, education fairs, and counselling events when required.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace and CRM tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Qualification & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline; Education, Business, Management, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 14 years of experience in study abroad counselling, education counselling, admissions, student recruitment, or a related role.
  • Experience in international education/study abroad counselling will be preferred.
Preferred Knowledge
  • Familiarity with study destinations such as Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, or other international education markets.
  • Understanding of international university admissions and application processes.
  • Knowledge of IELTS/PTE/TOEFL and other relevant admission requirements is an advantage.
