About the role

Story Squad Migration Consultants is looking for an experiencedStudent Counsellorto join our team in Thiruvananthapuram.

The role involves counselling students and parents who are planning to pursuehigher education abroad. You will understand each student's academic background, career goals, budget and preferences and help them identify suitable study destinations, courses and institutions.

We are specifically looking for someone withhands-on experience in overseas education / study abroad counsellingwho understands the student decision-making and international admissions process.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct one-to-one counselling with students and parents regarding overseas education.
• Understand students' academic background, career goals, budget and study preferences.
• Recommend suitable countries, courses, universities and study destinations.
• Handle counselling through phone calls, WhatsApp and in-person meetings.
• Follow up with prospective students and guide them through their decision-making process.
• Assist students with course and institution selection and admission application procedures.
• Guide students regarding application documentation and coordinate with the internal admissions team.
• Maintain regular communication with students and parents throughout the application process.
• Maintain accurate records of counselling, follow-ups, applications and student status.
• Build professional relationships with students and parents.
• Work towards counselling and application-related targets while maintaining quality student service.
• Earnperformance-based incentives in addition to the monthly salary based on individual performance and results.

What we're looking for

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience specifically in study abroad / overseas education counselling.
• Practical experience counselling students and guiding them through international admission/application processes.
• Good understanding of overseas study destinations, courses, universities and admission procedures.
• Experience handling student and parent queries, follow-ups and application-related communication.
• Strong communication skills inEnglish and Malayalam.
• Tamil is an added advantage, but not mandatory.
• Comfortable communicating with students through phone, WhatsApp and email.
• Good follow-up skills and attention to documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple student cases while maintaining quality student service.

Important:Candidates whose experience is limited to generic telecalling, BPO/customer service or unrelated sales may not be suitable for this position.
