Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Structural) to lead analysis, design, and detailing of steel, concrete, and composite structures for Datacenter projects in Chennai.

You will coordinate with civil, mechanical, piping, and project teams, ensure compliance with IS/Eurocode/BS, and drive small to mid-size design projects with emphasis on safety, constructability, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Master of Engineering (ME) in structural engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and codes.
• Experience leading design teams on complex datasets.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, and composite structures for Datacenter projects.
• Prepare design calculations, reports, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
• Develop and review structural drawings, erection drawings, and connection details.
• Ensure designs comply with IS, AISC, Eurocode, BS, and client specifications.
• Conduct design checks, peer reviews, and technical audits.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, piping, and project engineering teams.
• Review vendor documents and provide technical inputs.
• Resolve site engineering issues and provide construction support.
• Optimize structural designs for safety, constructability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead small to medium-sized design projects and monitor schedule adherence.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE or similar; Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM workflows.

Job Description

The Senior Design Engineer (Structural) is responsible for the analysis, design, and detailing of steel, concrete, and composite structures for Datacenter projects. The role involves leading design activities, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
