Job description

Lead Engineer – responsible for providing design support on technically challenging multi‑disciplinary projects. The role develops structural analysis models and designs, ensuring compliance with project objectives, safety, and quality standards while integrating new technologies and construction materials.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design buildings across sectors including residential, commercial, high‑rise, hospitality, and healthcare.
• Global Middle East projects experience is mandatory.
• Lead a team of structural engineers and designers to develop calculations, specifications, construction drawings, and the structural model.
• Fully understand structural scope, identify changes, and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Develop and manage the schedule, budget, and staffing forecasts for the structural scope.
• Participate in project meetings, resolve concerns, and solve cross‑discipline problems.
• Develop structural concepts that complement architectural designs.
• Demonstrate full commitment to safety and quality.
• Champion internal, cross‑discipline, and external project quality.
• Prepare and check detailed structural calculations and drawings according to project quality procedures.
• Take ultimate responsibility for all deliverables, including calculations and construction documents.
• Understand project procedures, execution plans, and quality plans; assist the Project Manager in execution.
• Assist the Project Manager in organizing weekly meetings, compiling meeting notes, weekly project reports, and related documentation.
• Communicate within the team and with the client/lead office to ensure timely resolution of needs.
• Lead or handle large projects independently.
• Interact with all stakeholders, including clients and vendors.
• Coordinate with Project Controls to plan and control the project schedule and generate progress and productivity reports.
• Contribute to the Operations Centre Leadership team and collaborate with other leaders to deliver strategic and growth objectives.
• Assist in the leadership of functional teams or projects.
• Demonstrate good presentation skills.
• Possess strong spoken and written English communication skills and interpersonal competence.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 10 to 15 years of experience.
• Professional Engineer or equivalent certifications such as IStructE or CEng preferred.
• Experience in structural design for buildings using RC or Steel materials.
• Understanding of general arrangement, RC/Steel detailing drawings, and the ability to guide and check technician work.
• Experience conceptualizing structural design on the basis of architectural concepts.
• Knowledge of new technologies, latest construction materials, and ability to adapt to emerging markets.
