Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Structural Design Engineer role based in Chennai. The Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for performing structural analysis and design for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include preparing design calculations, generating and reviewing detailed drawings, and coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers to integrate structural solutions into overall project designs. The engineer will work extensively with CAD tools to develop and revise structural plans, details, and models, while supporting digital transformation workflows such as BIM-based coordination where applicable. Additional responsibilities include participating in design reviews, assisting with technical documentation and reports, and providing engineering support during construction and review stages.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Structural Analysis, with the ability to design safe, efficient, and code-compliant structures.
• Background in Civil Engineering, including understanding of construction methods, materials, geotechnical considerations, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, including experience with AutoCAD & ETABS for structural drawings and detailing.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience working on building or infrastructure projects, preferably within digitally enabled or BIM-oriented environments.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients on-site.
• Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards (e.g., IS codes or equivalent), and openness to learning new tools and technologies such as BIM, VR/AR, or Digital Twins.
