Job summary

Amor Management Consultants is seeking an experienced procurement leader to head Indirect Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and Services Procurement for a manufacturing client. You will shape category strategies, drive supplier performance and manage complex contracts for plant and facility services.

The role requires 15–20 years in relevant fields, hands-on negotiation, and strong stakeholder management. You will oversee a team of three, partner with operations, and ensure ISO 9001:2015

Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to lead Indirect Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and Services Procurement activities for a manufacturing organization. The role will focus on developing category strategies, supplier management, cost optimization, contract management and procurement of plant and facility-related services and projects.

Role & responsibilities

• Drive indirect procurement KPIs covering cost, quality, delivery, supplier performance, Opex, Capex, services and project procurement.
• Develop and implement category strategies for various indirect procurement categories.
• Identify, evaluate and develop new suppliers and alternate sources to mitigate supply risks.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and resolve supplier or internal stakeholder escalations.
• Drive cost-saving and cost-containment initiatives through negotiation, alternate source development, benchmarking, alternate materials and business-share optimization.
• Manage annual rate contracts, service agreements and maintenance contracts.
• Handle procurement for projects involving civil, electrical, fabrication, solar, office/factory renovation, fixtures and machine-layout changes.
• Manage the complete procurement cycle for projects understanding requirements, preparing RFQs, supplier identification, commercial evaluation, negotiation, PO/contract finalization, execution monitoring and project handover.
• Manage contracts and services covering facility management, manpower, security, canteen, employee transport, maintenance, IT services, travel, hotel/events, scrap and other plant services.
• Work closely with user functions to understand requirements and define clear scope of work and commercial requirements.
• Evaluate and negotiate commercial proposals and prepare recommendations for management approval.
• Monitor contract execution, supplier performance and resolve commercial or operational disputes.
• Drive supplier benchmarking and market intelligence for services and indirect categories.
• Ensure procurement processes comply with IMS and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of procurement-related non-conformities.
• Lead and manage a team of 3 direct reports.

Preferred candidate profile

• 15- 20 years of experience in Indirect Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Services Procurement, Corporate Purchase or Supply Management.
• Strong hands-on experience in Indirect Procurement and Services Procurement.
• Proven experience in developing and executing category strategies.
• Strong exposure to cost savings, supplier development, negotiations and alternate sourcing.
• Experience in contract management, annual rate contracts and service agreements.
• Exposure to Capex and project procurement, particularly civil, electrical, fabrication, facility or plant-related projects.
• Experience in supplier relationship management and stakeholder management.
• Prior experience in team management is preferred.
• Manufacturing / plant procurement experience will be an advantage.
• BE/B.Tech preferred; MBA will be an added advantage.
• Exposure to ISO 9001:2015 / IMS / procurement audits will be an advantage.
