Job summary

Jiostar seeks a Concept / Storyboard Artist to fuse classical storytelling with hands-on AI production. You will turn loglines or moods into visual worlds through concept boards, character designs, and shot-by-shot storyboards for an AI pipeline.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that demands craft and judgment in AI-assisted output. You will translate briefs into boards, maintain consistency across frames, and collaborate with directors to iterate quickly on tight timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong portfolio spanning concept art, character design and storyboarding.
• Fluency in cinematic framing, staging and composition.
• Proven ability to worldbuild and develop characters across styles.
• Hands-on proficiency with AI image and video generation tools and good judgment of capabilities.

About the role:

We're looking for a Concept / Storyboard Artist who combines classical visual storytelling with hands‑on AI production. You'll take a raw idea — a logline, a mood, a half‑formed vision — and turn it into a coherent visual world: concept boards, character designs, and shot‑by‑shot storyboards our AI pipeline can execute against. This isn't a "prompt and pray" role. We need a real artist who understands why a frame works, and can use AI tools to deliver that frame with speed and intention.

What you'll do:

• Translate briefs and scripts into concept boards that establish tone, palette, and world.
• Build environments and characters with an internally consistent visual logic.
• Create storyboards and shot lists for AI production — framing, staging, and sequence flow the pipeline can follow.
• Maintain visual consistency across a project through reference sheets and style guides.
• Iterate quickly with directors and producers, turning notes into revised boards on tight timelines.

What we're looking for:

• A strong portfolio spanning concept art, character design, and storyboarding.
• Command of cinematic framing, staging, and composition.
• Proven worldbuilding and character development across styles.
• Hands‑on proficiency with AI image and video generation tools, and the judgment to know what they can and can't yet deliver.
• Ability to hold character and style consistent across many generated frames.
• Solid digital painting foundations to fix and finish AI output.
• Portfolio work in both horizontal (16:9) and vertical (9:16) aspect ratios.
