Navalt is seeking a Store Assistant to support day-to-day store operations, including receiving, storing, issuing materials, and maintaining stock records. The role involves ensuring accurate documentation and smooth coordination with procurement and project teams to keep materials available on time.
The ideal candidate should be organized and detail-oriented, capable of handling physical and documentation tasks efficiently, with exposure to inventory procedures and basic MS Excel and Tally
The Store Assistant will support the Store Officer in managing day-to-day store operations, including material receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation. This role involves assisting in inventory control, maintaining stock records, and ensuring smooth coordination with procurement and project teams. The ideal candidate should be organized, attentive to detail, and capable of handling physical and documentation tasks efficiently.
Assist in receiving, unloading, and verifying incoming materials against purchase orders or delivery challans.
Report any discrepancies or damages to the Store Officer immediately.
Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.
Support in maintaining stock registers, bin cards, and daily material logs.
Help in conducting regular stock verifications and audits.
Issue materials to departments or project sites based on approved requisitions.
Ensure proper documentation for every issue and return transaction.
Assist in preparing Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), material issue slips, and return notes.
Maintain proper filing of invoices, delivery notes, and purchase documents under the guidance of the Store Officer.
Coordinate with the purchase and accounts departments regarding stock requirements, delivery updates, and documentation support.
Communicate effectively with the project team to ensure timely material availability.
Ensure the store area is organized, clean, and complies with safety standards.
Follow proper labeling, stacking, and material handling procedures.
Assist the Store Officer in procurement follow-ups and stock reporting.
Help in preparing daily and weekly store activity reports.
Education: Any Diploma or Bachelor's Degree (preferred in Commerce or relevant field).
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in store operations or material handling (experience in manufacturing or marine industry preferred).
Basic knowledge of inventory management and store procedures.
Familiarity with MS Excel and record-keeping practices.
Knowledge of Tally will be an added advantage.
