Job summary

Influitive Consultancy Services Private Limited is seeking an experienced Storage & Backup Architect to design, implement, and optimize enterprise storage, backup, and DR infrastructure across large data centers.

You will manage SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, RAID and replication, while ensuring data protection, retention, and recovery objectives. Strong vendor tool experience and collaboration with IT teams are required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise storage and backup architectures.
• Architect and manage SAN, NAS, block, file, and object storage solutions.
• Configure Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, SMB, RAID, LUN provisioning, zoning, and multipathing.
• Design and implement backup, recovery, archival, and data retention solutions.
• Manage backup policies, schedules, retention, replication, and recovery.
• Implement backup for VMware, Windows, Linux, databases, and apps.
• Design and manage backup infrastructure including media servers and repositories.
• Implement immutable backups, air-gapped protection, and ransomware recovery.
• Plan DR solutions with replication, RPO/RTO, and DR testing.
• Monitor jobs, troubleshoot, and ensure successful backups and restores.
• Lead migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure transformations.
• Prepare HLDs/LLDs and SOPs; coordinate with cross-functional teams.

We are looking for an experienced Storage & Backup Architect to design, implement, manage, and optimize enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery infrastructure. The candidate should have strong expertise in SAN/NAS technologies, enterprise backup solutions, data protection, replication, recovery planning, capacity management, and performance optimization across large-scale data center environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise storage and backup architectures aligned with business continuity, performance, scalability, and availability requirements.

• Architect and manage SAN, NAS, block, file, and object storage solutions.
  
• Configure and manage Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, SMB, RAID, LUN provisioning, zoning, and multipathing.
  
• Design and implement enterprise backup, recovery, archival, and data retention solutions.
  
• Manage backup policies, schedules, retention, replication, and recovery procedures for physical and virtual environments.
  
• Implement backup solutions for VMware, Windows, Linux, databases, applications, and file systems.
  
• Design and manage backup infrastructure, including backup servers, media servers, repositories, deduplication appliances, and backup storage.
  
• Implement and manage immutable backups, air-gapped protection, and ransomware recovery strategies.
  
• Design and validate disaster recovery solutions, including storage replication, backup copies, recovery objectives (RPO/RTO), and DR testing.
  
• Monitor backup job status, resolve failures, troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure successful backup and restore operations.
  
• Perform periodic recovery testing and validate data integrity and recoverability.
  
• Manage storage capacity planning, performance monitoring, utilization, and lifecycle management.
  
• Lead storage and backup migrations, upgrades, refresh activities, and infrastructure transformation projects.
  
• Integrate storage and backup solutions with VMware, enterprise servers, databases, and data center infrastructure.
  
• Prepare HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans, SOPs, backup policies, and disaster recovery documentation.
  
• Coordinate with infrastructure, network, virtualization, application, and security teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  
• Provide technical leadership for incident management, root cause analysis, and infrastructure optimization.
  

Requirements

Required Technical Skills

- Strong expertise in enterprise storage architecture, administration, and troubleshooting.

• Hands-on experience with SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, RAID, storage provisioning, and multipathing.
  
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as Dell PowerStore/PowerMax, NetApp, HPE Alletra/Primera, IBM FlashSystem, or equivalent.
  
• Strong experience with enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam, Veritas NetBackup, Dell NetWorker, Commvault, or equivalent.
  
• Knowledge of backup architecture, backup repositories, deduplication, compression, replication, and retention management.
  
• Experience in backup and recovery for VMware virtual machines, Windows/Linux servers, databases, and enterprise applications.
  
• Understanding of immutable backups, ransomware protection, off-site backup copies, and air-gapped recovery.
  
• Expertise in disaster recovery planning, RPO/RTO requirements, recovery testing, and business continuity.
  
• Experience with storage replication, snapshots, thin provisioning, and data migration.
  
• Knowledge of VMware vSphere integration with storage and backup infrastructure.
  
• Experience in performance monitoring, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  
• Ability to create technical architecture documents, implementation plans, and operational procedures.
  

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Relevant storage or backup vendor certifications are an advantage.
  
• Experience working in large enterprise, telecom, or service-provider data center environments.
  
• Exposure to automation, monitoring, and infrastructure management tools.
  

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
