Qualifications

• 5–12 years of experience in scrap/steel raw-material procurement.
• Strong knowledge of ferrous scrap grades and market rates.
• Excellent negotiation and commercial skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong network of scrap suppliers, dealers, traders and aggregators.
• Source and procure HMS, MS Scrap, Turning/Boring, Busheling and other ferrous scrap as per plant requirements.
• Negotiate price, quality, payment terms and delivery conditions with suppliers.
• Monitor daily scrap market prices and identify the best buying opportunities.
• Ensure proper quality/grade verification, weighing and inspection of incoming scrap.
• Coordinate with Stores, Quality, Production, Finance and Logistics for smooth receipt and consumption.
• Develop alternate suppliers to reduce dependency and procurement risk.
• Maintain procurement MIS covering quantity, rate, landed cost, supplier performance and savings.
• Ensure procurement is aligned with plant production requirements and inventory levels.

Position: Scrap Procurement Manager

Role Objective

Responsible for procurement of ferrous scrap and other metallic raw materials at competitive prices, ensuring continuous availability, quality control and optimum procurement cost for the steel plant.

Candidate Profile

• 5–12 years' experience in scrap/steel raw-material procurement, preferably in a steel melting/rolling/TMT plant.
• Strong knowledge of ferrous scrap grades, market rates and supplier networks.
• Excellent negotiation and commercial skills.
• Strong local/regional supplier network in MP, UP, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and surrounding markets will be an advantage.
• Graduate/MBA/PGDM preferred.
