Job summary

ENS Group in Chennai seeks a results-driven Metal Scrap Trader to source and trade ferrous, non-ferrous and e-scrap profitably and responsibly. You will develop supplier networks, assess material quality, negotiate terms and coordinate collection and settlement.

Based in West Tambaram with travel across India, you will monitor market trends, manage risk, and ensure compliant sourcing while maintaining strong relationships with operations and finance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of direct metal-scrap sourcing or trading experience.
• Knowledge of metal grades, quality deductions, pricing, weighment, logistics and supplier settlements.
• Active supplier network and willingness to travel across India.
• Strong negotiation and commercial judgement.

The role is accountable for verified volumes, gross margin, supplier quality, transaction discipline and sustainable market relationships.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTED OUTCOMES

• Develop industrial generators, dealers, aggregators, auctions and other reliable sources of ferrous, non-ferrous, e-scrap and recyclable metal feedstock.
• Assess material grade, contamination, recoverable value, market pricing, logistics and payment risk before recommending a transaction.
• Negotiate purchase terms, volumes, delivery schedules, claims and repeat-supply arrangements within approved limits.
• Coordinate inspection, weighment, collection, transport, documentation, receipt and commercial settlement with operations and finance.
• Maintain daily market intelligence on metal prices, competitor activity, supplier behaviour and regional sourcing opportunities.
• Track enquiry pipeline, supplier conversion, tonnage, gross margin, quality claims and overdue actions through disciplined reporting.
• Protect the company from material misrepresentation, unethical practices, credit exposure and non-compliant sourcing.

Requirements

• Practical knowledge of common metal grades, quality deductions, pricing, weighment, logistics and supplier settlement.
• An active supplier network and willingness to be based in West Tambaram, Chennai and travel extensively across India.
• Strong negotiation, commercial judgement, numeracy and relationship-management ability.
• High integrity and ability to quantify previous volumes, margins and accounts handled.
