Job summary

ArcVac ForgeCast Private Limited seeks a senior leader for Purchase & Stores to design and drive end‑to‑end SCM systems across steel plant operations. You will build and maintain a reliable supplier base and ensure material availability at optimum cost while stabilizing processes and overseeing cost‑effective procurement.

Qualifications

• A graduate engineer or CA with relevant experience; MBA an added advantage.
• At least 20 years relevant experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles from steel plant, foundries, and engineering industry in promoter‑managed companies.

• Improve delivery periods and develop an effective storage system.

Responsibilities

• Develop effective systems and procedures for professional management of Purchase & Stores functions to relieve promoters from these activities.
• Support increasing volumes after stabilizing Purchase & Stores functions.
• Develop a strategy for implementing Supply Chain Management (SCM) in line with modern management practices and key customer requirements.
• Build a reliable supplier base for ferrous scrap, ferro alloys, refractories, other steel plant consumables, electrical and mechanical spares, components, and services including transport contracts.
• Review and rationalize the supplier base, retaining only reliable suppliers to drive quality and optimize cost.
• Develop and implement supplier quality management activities and KPIs.
• Ensure availability of all materials at optimum cost.
• Improve delivery periods.
• Develop an effective storage system.

Reporting Structure: ED/COO – MD

Reportees: Over 10 executives and supervisors in Purchase & Stores
