Job summary

Nexont Engineering Pvt. Ltd. in India is seeking Steel Detailers of all levels for precise shop and erection drawings using Tekla Structures or SDS2.

This role covers Coimbatore and Kolkata, with opportunities across Junior to Senior modeling positions. You'll produce models, BOMs, and detailing in adherence to AISC, CSA S16, SJI, SDI, and AWS standards, mentor teammates, and coordinate with engineers to resolve design queries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience in structural steel detailing or modeling.
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures or SDS2 (please specify primary tool).
• Familiarity with US/Canada structural steel standards (AISC, CISC/CSA S16, SJI, SDI, AWS) is a strong plus.
• Good understanding of structural steel connections and shop drawing conventions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate shop and erection drawings for structural steel projects.
• Model structural steel members and connections in Tekla Structures or SDS2.
• Prepare BOMs and connection design details.
• Review detailing work for accuracy and code compliance (Checker role).
• Coordinate with project engineers and PMs to resolve RFIs and design queries.
• Ensure detailing complies with AISC, CISC/CSA S16, SJI, SDI, or AWS standards.
• Mentor junior team members and support quality control (Senior/Lead roles).

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in structural steel detailing or modeling (freshers will not be considered at this time)
• Working proficiency in Tekla Structures or SDS2 (please specify which)
• Familiarity with US/Canadian structural steel standards (AISC, CISC/CSA S16, SJI, SDI, AWS) is a strong plus
• Good understanding of structural steel connections and shop drawing conventions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines
