Job summary

Anthroplace Consulting in Kolkata is seeking an experienced SDS/2 Modeler / Structural Steel Detailer to lead 3D modeling and detailing tasks for bridge and building projects.

The role focuses on SDS/2 modeling, fabrication and erection drawings, and compliance with AISC standards, while coordinating with clients and engineers to resolve detailing issues on multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Experienced SDS/2 Modeler / Structural Steel Detailer with strong expertise in structural steel modeling and detailing.
• Hands-on experience in SDS/2, with exposure to steel bridge detailing, AISC standards, fabrication and erection drawings, and steel connections.
• Ability to interpret drawings and produce accurate 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and extract information from drawings for accurate 3D model creation.
• Develop complex 3D structural steel models using SDS/2 for fabrication and erection needs.
• Prepare accurate 2D fabrication/shop drawings and erection drawings based on project requirements.
• Model and detail structural steel bridges and miscellaneous steel per AISC standards.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, and project stakeholders to resolve detailing issues.
• Configure SDS/2 settings according to project requirements.
• Create and apply user-defined steel connections in SDS/2 for various projects.
• Review models and drawings to ensure quality and compliance with project specs.

Candidate Profile:

Experienced SDS/2 Modeler / Structural Steel Detailer with strong expertise in structural steel modeling and detailing. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in SDS/2, with exposure to steel bridge detailing, AISC standards, fabrication and erection drawings, and steel connections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and extract relevant information from structural and architectural drawings for accurate 3D model creation.
• Develop complex 3D structural steel models using SDS/2, with a strong understanding of fabrication and erection requirements.
• Prepare accurate 2D fabrication/shop drawings and erection drawings based on project and field requirements.
• Model and detail structural steel bridges, including both main steel and miscellaneous steel, in accordance with AISC standards.
• Work effectively with different client‑specific standards, specifications, and project requirements.
• Configure and manage the required SDS/2 settings based on project requirements.
• Create and apply user‑defined/custom steel connections in SDS/2 as required for different projects.
• Coordinate effectively with external customers, engineers, and project stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and resolve detailing issues.
• Review and check models, drawings, and final deliverables produced by the team to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
