About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Static Equipment Engineer to join our Corporate Engineering team. The role involves engineering governance, design review, specification development, vendor evaluation, and coordination with EPC partners for multisite chemical plant projects.

The position is corporate office-based, with occasional travel to project sites, vendor workshops, and design engineering consultant (DEC) offices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Engineering Design Review & Governance

• Review and approve EPC engineering deliverables for pressure vessels, columns, reactors, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and other static equipment.
• Validate datasheets, design calculations, GA drawings, nozzle orientation, and fabrication drawings.
• Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII, TEMA, API 650/620, IS standards.
• Validate metallurgy, corrosion allowance, and MOC based on process requirements.
• Review mechanical design basis and facilitate value engineering.
• Prepare engineering trackers and reports to support project schedules.

2. Technical Specification & Standardization

• Develop and standardize corporate engineering specifications.
• Prepare and review Material Requisitions (MR) and Technical Purchase Specifications.
• Participate in HAZOP and safety review meetings at the corporate level.

3. Vendor & Technical Bid Evaluation

• Conduct Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for static equipment.
• Review vendor offers, lead technical clarifications, and approve vendor documentation.
• Coordinate with procurement to finalize technically compliant vendors.

4. Project Coordination & Monitoring

• Coordinate with EPC engineering teams to ensure timely engineering deliverables.
• Monitor engineering schedules, identify risks, and support on-site technical challenges.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously.

5. Quality & Compliance Oversight

• Review ITPs and quality documents.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve technical deviations when required.

  Required Qualifications:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Full-time)
  • 5 to 7 years of Experience in static equipment engineering within chemical/petrochemical/refinery projects.
  • Experience with EPC companies or as Owners Engineer preferred.
  • Experience in corporate engineering/design office environment is desirable.

  Technical Skills Required:

  • Expertise in ASME Section VIII Div 1 & 2, TEMA, API 650/620.
  • Strong understanding of pressure vessel design and metallurgy.
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes and NDT methods.
  • Familiarity with PV Elite / COMPRESS.
  • Ability to review stress analysis and mechanical calculations.
