Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru, India seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in static equipment for global oil & gas projects. You will lead design reviews, coordinate vendor qualifications, and ensure compliance with ASME/API/NBIC standards across onshore/offshore facilities.

We value 9–14 years of relevant experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex interfaces with Process, Materials and Rotating Equipment teams. Travel readiness and shift flexibility are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree; GPA 6.0+.
  • Strong leadership, influencing & interpersonal skills.

  • Strong verbal and written English communication.
  • Willing/able to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Coordinate vendor qualification and bid evaluations.
  • Interface with Process, Rotating Equipment, Materials teams.
  • Ensure deliverables meet project life cycle requirements.

Job description

Job Requirements
  • Static Equipment Industry design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria, including ASME Code Section VIII, Divisions 1 and 2, API 510, API 650, API 620, API 653, API 660, API 661, EN 14015
  • Knowledgeable of mechanical properties and degradation mechanisms for common materials of construction such as carbon steel, low chrome and nickel alloy steels, austenitic stainless steel, duplex and super duplex stainless steels, and nickel-based alloys such as Inconel.
  • Design, fabrication & construction experience in:
  • Pressure vessels, process columns, reactor, and heat exchangers
  • Vessel, heat exchanger and storage tank analysis programs such as PV Elite, Compress, Tank, AME Tank etc.
  • Familiarity with pressure equipment rerate and repair assessments per API 510 and NBIC.
  • Onshore and offshore facilities design; along with direct experience working onsite in oil & gas facilities.
  • Participated in Layout Model Reviews, Hazard Identification Study (HAZID), design reviews, risk assessments, Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOPs), vendor qualification, and vendor bid evaluations as requested. Experience in coordinating & leading these reviews.
  • Tangible breadth of experience in multiple technical disciplines, in addition to depth of knowledge in Mechanical/Static Equipment.
  • Strong organizational, management, and technical judgment skills.
  • Good understanding of Project Life cycle and department interfaces.
  • Good understanding of Plant Operations priorities
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with engineering disciplines such as Process, Rotating Equipment, Materials, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and support client needs.
  • Multiple prior assignments that provide a variety of exposure to global oil & gas operations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
  • Willing and able to travel as required, both domestic and international.
  • Flexible to work in shifts.
  • Experience in live Plant Operations a plus.
  • 9 to 14 years of experience in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, LNG, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of fitness for service
