Job summary

Broadcom is seeking an experienced engineer to build system software components for Linux/Fabric OS and support infrastructure across multiple releases.

The role requires 8–12 years in a software product company, with C/C++ on Linux/Unix, Python scripting, and strong SDLC experience; excellent communication across geographies is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or Information Systems; Master's preferred.
• 8–12 years in a software product company; Linux/Unix with C/C++.
• Proficient in at least one scripting language, preferably Python.
• Familiar with SDLC for a multi-release product.
• Strong written and verbal communication for requirements, specs, tests.

Responsibilities

• Build system software components on Linux/Fabric OS.
• Troubleshoot and support infrastructure for multiple parallel releases.

• Port applications to new Linux kernels.

Job description

• Porting the applications to new Linux kernels.
• Work closely with the testing, documentation and customer support teams.

Skills required:

• Must have a 4-year undergraduate degree, and Master s degree preferred, with Major or Minor in Computer Science or Information Systems
• Must have 8 to 12 years of work experience in a software product company. Should have worked on the Linux/Unix platforms, using C/C++ languages.
• Should have knowledge of atleast one scripting language, preferable Python.
• must be familiar with Software Development Life Cycle for a product that has multiple release streams, and must have gone through the software development process at least once in their past work experience
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills to:
• take requirement, develop external functional specs, unit test plan, and implementation design specs
