Job summary

Extreme Networks seeks a Senior QA Engineer with 8-14 years of experience to own end-to-end quality for our cloud-native networking platform. You will define test strategies, develop comprehensive plans, and build scalable automation across cloud, networking, microservices, APIs, and UI components.

You will collaborate with product, development, and cloud ops teams, drive API and UI automation, and ensure robust test coverage for both wired and wireless networking features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 8-14 years of Experience in Network Management/Orchestration domain
• Good debugging skills in a Microservices oriented architecture based product
• Hands on experience with Cloud technologies and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Hands on experience with Performance Testing - with tools like JMeter, Locust; API Testing with Mocks and Automation
• Knowledge of tools like Git, Jira; UI Automation using Selenium/Robot Framework and Python
• SQL/NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL/Redis/Ignite; Monitoring tools like Grafana/Prometheus

Job Description: Excellent QA experience in most of the following areas:

• Experience in testing cloud-based applications.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.
• Experience and understanding of Kubernetes, Docker and Clustering solutions.
• Experience in creating end-to-end test strategy and test planning.
• Plan, Develop, Execute and Automate Test suites for our Cloud based Networking applications and Services
• Perform functional, integration, performance and scale, load validations.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Development, CloudOps and other teams on the above.
• Review customer deployments and customer found issues and address any gaps in the test coverage.
• Automation of features from an end-to-end perspective - API and GUI.
• Review automation code written by other team members, give feedback.
• API Testing (Functional, Security aspects and Scale/Performance) (REST preferred)
• Hands-on programming using Java, Python, ROBOT, Perl, Go or TCL/TK.
• Experience in testing wired Networking protocols like VLAN, IP, STP, TCP, UDP, VRRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, SPBM etc.
• Experience in testing Enterprise Wireless and Wired networks.
• Experience in security concepts and protocols such as AAA framework, 802.1X, Captive portal, VPN, Firewalls, SSL etc.
• UI test automation experience using selenium or playwright.
• Knowledge of Virtualization and Hypervisor (ESX, Hyper-V).
• Experience using network testing tools like Wireshark, Ethereal or Jmeter.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix OS.
• Experience or exposure to AI, Machine Learning and related tools.
• Good Analytical and Communication Skills

Expected Skill Sets/Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 8-14 years of Experience in Network Management/Orchestration domain

• Knowledge on relevant widely used Tools for the same.
• UI Automation using Selenium, Robot framework and Python
• Applied experience with version control systems such as Git, Github
• Comfortable with SQL/NoSQL/In-memory databases such as PostgreSQL/Redis/Ignite
• Knowledge on monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus
