Job summary

Max Healthcare in Mumbai, India seeks an ICU nurse to provide expert nursing care for critically ill patients in the ICU. You will monitor patients closely, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and assist physicians and the critical care team with assessments and procedures.

The role involves maintaining asepsis, coordinating patient care, and communicating with patients’ families. Prior experience in ICU settings is preferred to support high-quality patient care and safety

Job description

1. Principle Duties & Responsibilities
   • Provides nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
   • Keeps all ICU patients under close observation and administers prescribed medications and treatments.
   • Provides assistance to the doctor or other medical personnel in the assessment of patients and delivery of treatments, such as dressing wounds, and monitors the life support equipment that patients use.
   • Provides the patient’s family with support as well aseducation.
   • Carries out both physical assessments of patients upon admission to the hospital.
   • Collaboration with fellow members of the critical care team.
   • Acting as a liaison for patients and the families of patient.
   • Respecting the rights and beliefs ofpatients.
   • Maintain the prepared standard protocol of asepsis strictly.
   • Prepare and check inventory of the drugs, crash cartproperly.
   • Check monitor, ventilator, all lifesaving gadgets for proper working condition
   • Be able to draw blood from both a central and arterial line, as well as give medication.
   • Responsible for assigning duties within the ICU and monitoring the care.(if necessary)
   • Completes and documents initial assessment of the patient according to the health care facility's guidelines. Initiates and revises the patient's plan of care based on continuing assessments.
   • Includes patient teaching and discharge planning in overall plan ofcare.
   • Incorporates clinical and technical aspects of care with nursing actions and interventions in
   • accordance with established policies, standards and procedures.
     • Documents nursing interventions and patient response according to hospital policy. Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and methods of implementation.
     • Maintains and updates skills needed for excellence in patientcare.
     • Fumigate the department periodically and asrequired.

     • Make referrals to & collaborate with other specialists as needed
