Job summary

Certara, a leading drug development partner, seeks a Sr. Test Automation Engineer to own QA for our Salesforce test automation across the GTM ecosystem (CRM, CPQ, Marketing Automation, CLM).

You will partner with Salesforce admins and developers and drive automated regression testing using Gearset. This role requires 3+ years of QA/testing in a Salesforce/CRM environment, hands-on test automation, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA/testing experience, ideally within a Salesforce or CRM environment.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce configuration (objects, flows, validation rules).
• Experience designing and maintaining test plans and test cases, not just executing existing ones.
• Understanding of Agile delivery and tools such as JIRA.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Ability to work with meaningful overlap with US/European hours for standups and stakeholder syncs.

Responsibilities

• Learn the Salesforce Org architecture, configurations, and release cadence across CRM, CPQ, Marketing Automation, and CLM
• Provide release testing across CRM, CPQ, Marketing Automation, and CLM, ensuring release quality is maintained.
• Provide and evolve the Gearset-based automated regression testing framework for Salesforce deployments.
• Maintain and expand a comprehensive test suite covering core business processes, integrations, and customizations.
• Partner with Salesforce admins/developers to embed automated testing into the deployment pipeline (CI/CD).
• Define QA standards, test documentation practices, and governance for ongoing releases.
• Work within the team's Agile/JIRA delivery process, integrating QA checkpoints into sprint cycles.
• Support Salesforce testing needs across Certara's business units as part of the broader GTM applications scope.
• Report on test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness to technology and business stakeholders, across time zones as needed given the distributed team.

About The Position

As Sr. Test Automation Engineer, you'll provide quality assurance for our Salesforce test automation function — spanning our Go-to-Market Salesforce ecosystem (CRM, CPQ, Marketing Automation, and Contract Lifecycle Management) across Certara's commercial teams and business units. You'll partner closely with Salesforce admins and developers, drive automated regression testing using Gearset.

• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or Engineering.
• 3+ years of QA/testing experience, ideally within a Salesforce or CRM environment.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce configuration (objects, flows, validation rules) sufficient to design meaningful test coverage.
• Experience designing and maintaining test plans and test cases, not just executing existing ones.
• Understanding of Agile delivery and tools such as JIRA.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Ability to work with meaningful overlap with US/European hours for standups and stakeholder syncs.

Bonus skills

• Salesforce certifications (Administrator, CPQ Specialist, or similar)
• Experience testing CPQ pricing/quoting logic specifically
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release management tools
• Exposure to SOX compliance
