Job summary

Giesecke+Devrient in Gurugram (India) is seeking a Sr. System Administrator to manage Windows Server environments, VMware virtualization, and enterprise storage to ensure high availability and security for business operations.

The role covers Windows Server 2019/2022/2025, Active Directory, vSphere, SAN/NAS storage (Dell EMC / NetApp / HPE), and adds experience in network basics. A Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience are preferred, with ITIL knowledge being a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT/Electronics or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• IT certifications (advantageous) such as Microsoft, VMware, storage, ITIL.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2019/2022/2025).
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
• Administer VMware vSphere, perform migrations, snapshots, and optimization.
• Manage SAN/NAS storage systems, LUNs, RAID, replication, and backups.
• Provide L2/L3 end-user support and handle onboarding/provisioning.
• Ensure IT security policy compliance, patching, and audit readiness.

Sr. System Administrator

Skilled System Administrator responsible for managing and maintaining Windows server environments, VMware virtualization infrastructure, and enterprise storage systems. The role ensures high availability, performance, security, and reliability of IT infrastructure supporting business operations.

Windows Server Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2019/2022/2025)


• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services


• Resolve server-related incidents and access issues

VMware Administration

• Manage VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter)


• Perform VM migration vMotion, snapshots, and resource optimization

Storage Administration

• Manage SAN/NAS storage systems (Dell EMC / NetApp / HP or equivalent)


• Configure LUNs, RAID, storage allocation, and replication


• Monitor storage performance, capacity planning, and backup integration

Network Administration - Added Advantage

• Manage Network Switches (Cisco / Dlink)


• Knoweldge on VLAN


• Basic Troubleshooting knowledge on Network Switches


• Basic Knoweldge on Firewall (PaloAlto)

End User Support

• Provide L2/L3 support for end-user issues (desktop, laptop, network, access)


• Handle user onboarding/offboarding (account creation, access provisioning)


• Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-related issues


• Support email, VPN, printing, and collaboration tools


• Ensure timely resolution as per SLA

Compliance & IT Standards

• Ensure adherence to IT security policies and organizational compliance standards


• Support audit requirements (internal/external/ISO/SOX as applicable)


• Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and changes


• Ensure patch compliance and vulnerability remediation


• Assist in implementing IT governance and standard operating procedures

Education and experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field

(B.Tech / B.E / BCA / MCA or equivalent preferred) with minimum 10 years of relevant experience Relevant industry certifications will be an added advantage:

• Microsoft (MCSA / MCSE / AZ-800 / AZ-801)


• VMware (VCP – Data Center Virtualization)


• Storage certifications (Dell EMC / NetApp / HPE)


• ITIL Foundation (preferred for IT service management)
