Job summary

Chubb India is seeking a Senior QA Duck Creek Claims Engineer to drive functional and automated testing for Duck Creek Claims. The role requires deep claims knowledge, strong automation skills, and collaboration across teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

You will design test cases, create automated suites, and participate in CI/CD integration, UAT support, and QA process improvements within a dynamic insurance tech environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related STEM fields.
  • 4+ years of experience in functional and automated testing with Duck Creek exposure.
  • Knowledge of testing tools like Selenium or other tools (Playwright preferred).
  • Duck Creek version exposure: V10.x/v11.x (on prem) highly preferred.
  • Exposure to API test automation using SOAP UI/ReadyAPI.
  • Familiarity with database testing using SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of XML, XSLT, XPath and browser DOM.
  • Advanced proficiency in test case design, test data management and execution.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and testing integration.
  • Deep understanding of the Claims life cycle and related processes.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage deep claims domain and application knowledge to handle testing challenges while conducting both functional and automated testing.
  • Analyze software requirements and design test cases based on acceptance criteria and component impact.
  • Create and execute automated test suites to identify defects and ensure software quality.
  • Perform multiple testing cycles until all requirements are met and provide quality certification with evidence.
  • Collaborate with development teams to conduct quality checks on changes, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Coordinate with downstream and upstream teams to validate changes across workflows.
  • Support UAT teams during final business validations for successful user acceptance.
  • Conduct pilot testing and optimize new applications or changes.
  • Participate in test code/script reviews and provide feedback to enhance quality.
  • Engage in test plan creation and discussions about testing strategies.
  • Work with the team to improve testing processes and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer in the Quality Engineering team, the incumbent will play significant role in handling complex functional testing & automation efforts. This position will involve conducting functional and automated testing of software applications, interacting with business and various stakeholders, understanding requirements, designing test cases, executing tests, and collaborating with development teams to ensure high-quality deliverables. The Senior Engineer will work closely with leads to contribute to the overall testing strategy and process improvement.

  • Leverage deep claims domain and application knowledge to handle testing challenges while conducting both functional and automated testing.
  • Analyze intricate software requirements and design test cases based on acceptance criteria and impact of associated components.
  • Create & execute automated test suites to identify defects and ensure software quality.
  • Perform multiple cycles of application testing until all requirements are fully met and provide quality certification along with specific evidence.
  • Collaborate with development teams to conduct thorough quality checks on application changes, ensuring adherence to testing standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate with various downstream and upstream application teams to validate the implemented changes across different application workflows.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) teams during final business-centric validations to ensure successful user acceptance of changes.
  • Conduct pilot testing and optimize new applications or changes being made to existing applications.
  • Participate in test code/script reviews and provide feedback to enhance software quality.
  • Engage in the creation of test plans and discussions about test strategies.
  • Work with team to improve testing processes and methodologies.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related STEM fields, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in functional and automated testing (must have a Duck Creek Claims exposure).
  • Knowledge of testing tools like Selenium or any other tools available in the market. (preferred Playwright)
  • Duck Creek version exposure: V10.x/v11.x versions (on prem version) is highly preferred.
  • Exposure API test automation using any tools like SOAP UI, ReadyAPI etc.
  • Familiarity with database testing using SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of XML, XSLT, XPath and browser document object model (DOM).
  • Advanced proficiency in test case design, test data management and execution.
  • Thorough understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration with testing processes.
  • Overall, the candidate should have deep understanding of the Claims life cycle, domain and associated processes and interdependencies to be able to drive testing solution within the team and effective functional coverage.
