Job summary

Cognizant in Mumbai is seeking a software engineer to work on core Java applications. You will tackle classic Java challenges, ensure thread-safe code, and optimize the Spring MVC stack with Hibernate against an Oracle database.

Strong problem solving and the ability to explain design decisions clearly are essential. Knowledge of Kafka is a plus, and exposure to React or microservice concepts is welcome though not required in the current stack.

Qualifications

• Proficient in core Java with strong understanding of strings, mutability, collections, and multi-threading.
• Analytical problem solving with ability to explain design choices.
• Experience with Spring MVC and Hibernate; Kafka exposure is a plus.

Job Summary

Must Have:

1. Very Strong in Core Java. Should be able to demonstrate the programming skill to address typical core java-based coding problems – Typically String Mutability, Collection Framework, Concurrence & Multi-Threading will be the area of focus
2. Any proposed candidate should demonstrate their problem-solving skill analytically and be able to explain why any solution is implemented than what part
3. The application is Spring MVC application with some usage of Kafka. Microservice & AWS is not being used at least in the current application stack. So, familiarity with Spring MVC along with Hibernate would be helpful for this engagement
4. As data base is Oracle so any proposed profile should be comfortable

Good To have

1. UI work will be primarily in the React JS
2. Any knowledge on Microservice & Spring boot
