Job summary

Phenobond is seeking a proactive Sr. R&D & Quality Control Executive for Water-Based paints. You will develop new WB formulations, drive NPD from concept to production, and ensure product quality aligns with standards and customer expectations.

Responsibilities include optimizing costs, conducting QC, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and documenting testing outcomes. A strong chemistry background with 3–5 years in WB paints is required, with Excel and reporting skills highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Paint Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in the Paint Manufacturing Industry (Water-Based Paints preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize WB paint formulations for interior, exterior, primer, emulsion, and specialty coatings.
• Lead New Product Development (NPD) from concept to production, including trials and plant-scale validation.
• Conduct formulation improvements to enhance performance, stability, and application properties.
• Work on cost optimization by evaluating raw materials, reducing formulation costs, and improving process efficiency.
• Perform quality control testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods as per established specs.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and industry specifications.
• Investigate quality issues, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchase, and Sales teams for product improvements and launches.
• Prepare technical documentation, formulation records, test reports, and SOPs.
• Evaluate new raw materials and suppliers through laboratory testing and performance comparisons.
• Support troubleshooting of production-related quality and formulation issues.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, testing instruments, and ensure proper calibration and housekeeping.

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled R&D & Quality Control Executive with expertise in Water-Based (WB) Paints. The candidate will be responsible for developing new formulations, improving existing products, optimizing manufacturing costs, and ensuring that all products meet the company's quality standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Water-Based (WB) paint formulations for interior, exterior, primer, emulsion, and specialty coating products.
• Lead New Product Development (NPD) from concept to commercial production, including laboratory trials and plant-scale validation.
• Conduct formulation improvements to enhance product performance, stability, and application properties.
• Work on cost optimization by evaluating alternative raw materials, reducing formulation costs, and improving process efficiency without compromising quality.
• Perform quality control testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods as per established specifications.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and relevant industry specifications.
• Investigate quality issues, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Required Qualifications

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Water-Based Paint Formulation.
• Experience in New Product Development (NPD).
• Expertise in Quality Control procedures and testing methods.
• Knowledge of cost reduction and formulation optimization.
• Understanding of raw materials such as binders, pigments, fillers, additives, dispersants, and rheology modifiers.
• Familiarity with laboratory testing methods including viscosity, pH, density, fineness, hiding power, scrub resistance, drying time, adhesion, gloss, and weather resistance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good documentation, reporting, and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical report preparation.
