Indiana Maritime seeks a Procurement Specialist to manage end-to-end procurement in the Oil & Gas sector, focusing on contract administration and service-based procurement. You will coordinate sourcing, RFQs, bid evaluations, and PO placement with strong vendor management.
You will draft and administer contracts, handle variations and claims, ensure compliance with policies, HSE standards, and industry regulations, and support audits while optimizing costs.
To manage end-to-end procurement activities with a strong focus on contract administration and service-based procurement within the Oil & Gas sector.
The role requires effective vendor management, commercial negotiation, and compliance with contractual and statutory requirements to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
Execute routine procurement activities including sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluation, and purchase order placement.
Ensure procurement is carried out in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Monitor order progress and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Draft, review, and administer contracts for services, ensuring alignment with project and organizational requirements.
Handle contractual correspondence, variations, amendments, and claims in coordination with internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and statutory obligations.
Maintain contract documentation and records for audit and reference purposes.
Manage procurement of service contracts such as maintenance, manpower supply, logistics, and technical services.
Evaluate service provider capabilities, technical compliance, and commercial competitiveness.
Coordinate with user departments to define scope of work (SOW) and service level agreements (SLAs).
Develop and maintain a robust vendor base aligned with company requirements.
Conduct vendor evaluation, onboarding, and performance assessment.
Build strategic relationships with key suppliers and service providers.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contractual conditions to achieve cost efficiency.
Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking for procurement decisions.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and value addition.
Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, HSE standards, and Oil & Gas industry regulations.
Prepare procurement reports, contract status updates, and MIS as required.
Support internal and external audits related to procurement and contracts.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation or related discipline).
3-6 years of relevant experience in procurement, with exposure to contract and service management in the Oil & Gas industry.
Proven experience in contract administration, vendor management, and service-based procurement.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract management principles.
Commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills.
Familiarity with Oil & Gas procurement practices and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and MS Office.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Exposure to offshore/onshore project procurement.
Understanding of legal and commercial terms in contracts (e.g., indemnity, LDs, arbitration).
Certification in Supply Chain/Procurement (e.g., CIPS) would be an added advantage.
