Job summary

OSI Digital is seeking a Senior PostgreSQL DBA for Hyderabad, INDIA. The role focuses on production database administration, high availability, backups, migrations, and performance tuning. Requires 7+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL experience and on-site work.

You will work on installation, configuration, upgrades, replication, and 24x7 support while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure database reliability and excellent performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration.
• Hands-on with PostgreSQL 16/17 Administration.
• Experience with High Availability and Streaming Replication.
• Backup and recovery using pg_dump/pg_restore/pg_basebackup and WAL archiving.
• Exposure to database upgrades and migrations.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Experience with monitoring/alerting tools for PostgreSQL.
• Nice to have Redis, MariaDB, MySQL, MongoDB knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and upgrade PostgreSQL servers.
• Mentor team and support daily DBA tasks and client communication.
• Monitor databases and troubleshoot availability, performance, connectivity, and replication issues.
• Manage backups, recovery, replication, and HA environments.
• Perform patching, upgrades, migrations, and cloning activities.
• Document resolution steps and provide knowledge transfer to peers.
• Provide 24x7 production support as part of a team.

OSI Digital is looking for PostgreSQL Database Administrators with rich hands-on experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration. This role provides an excellent opportunity to improve and strengthen technical skills in production support, PostgreSQL high-availability technologies, database upgrades, migrations, cloud technologies, backup and recovery, replication, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Work on installation, configuration, administration, and upgrading of PostgreSQL database servers and related products
• Work with and mentor the team to support daily DBA tasks and handle client communication
• Monitor PostgreSQL databases and troubleshoot database availability, performance, connectivity, and replication issues
• Manage PostgreSQL backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability environments
• Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, and cloning activities
• Document resolution steps after fixing issues and provide the required KT to peers.
• Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 production support.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL 16/17 Administration.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL High Availability and Streaming Replication
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL backup and recovery using tools such as pg_dump, pg_restore, pg_basebackup, and WAL archiving.
• Exposure to Database Upgrades and Migrations using ora2pg.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Exposure to Performance tuning.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools for PostgreSQL environments
• Good to have skills on Redis, MariaDB, MySQL, Valkey, MongoDB
