Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage overall MEP activities for the project from planning through execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Fighting, and associated MEP works.
- Provide technical and managerial direction to MEP engineers, supervisors, foremen, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Review and ensure MEP works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Review MEP design drawings, shop drawings, coordinated drawings, layouts, specifications, BOQ, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, structural teams, project management teams, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor overall MEP project progress and ensure activities are completed within approved schedules and milestones.
- Develop MEP execution plans, manpower requirements, material requirements, and work schedules.
- Manage and coordinate multiple MEP contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality execution.
- Review material requirements, procurement schedules, technical submittals, and material approvals to ensure uninterrupted site progress.
- Monitor material consumption and assist in controlling MEP project costs and wastage.
- Review BOQ quantities, measurements, variations, extra items, and contractor bills as required.
- Identify technical, execution, coordination, and site-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor the quality of MEP installations.
- Ensure proper coordination between MEP services and civil, structural, architectural, and finishing works.
- Lead and monitor Inspection Requests (IR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), testing, commissioning, and approval processes.
- Ensure preparation and maintenance of as-built drawings, testing and commissioning records, inspection reports, and other project documentation.
- Monitor snagging, defect identification, rectification, and final MEP handover activities.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other MEP systems.
- Ensure MEP systems are properly tested, commissioned, and handed over as per project requirements.
- Monitor project risks, delays, technical constraints, and resource requirements and take corrective action.
- Conduct regular progress review meetings with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and review MEP progress reports, management reports, and project status updates.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, project procedures, statutory requirements, and HSE standards.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure all MEP activities are carried out in accordance with HSE requirements.
- Support senior management in MEP planning, project execution, cost control, resource planning, and strategic decision-making.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and other building MEP systems.
- Strong ability to read and interpret MEP design drawings, shop drawings, coordinated drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Good knowledge of MEP installation methods, materials, equipment, and construction practices.
- Knowledge of electrical cable trays, conduits, cables, panels, DBs, earthing, and associated systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems including AHU, FCU, ducting, piping, insulation, ventilation, and related equipment.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, sewage, pumps, tanks, and associated piping.
- Knowledge of fire fighting systems including fire pumps, hydrants, sprinkler systems, fire piping, and related equipment.
- Knowledge of testing, commissioning, balancing, and troubleshooting of MEP systems.
- Ability to identify design and site coordination issues and provide practical technical solutions.
- Good understanding of applicable MEP codes, standards, specifications, and quality requirements.

Quality & HSE
- Ensure all MEP works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Establish and maintain high-quality standards throughout MEP execution.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants and quality teams.
- Monitor installation quality and ensure timely rectification of defects.
- Ensure proper testing and commissioning of all MEP systems.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safe working procedures.
- Identify site safety risks and ensure appropriate corrective measures are implemented.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions across MEP work areas.
Qualification & Experience
- Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant Engineering discipline.
- Experience: 12–15 years of relevant MEP experience, preferably in residential, commercial, high-rise, or large-scale building projects.
- Proven experience in managing MEP execution and multiple MEP contractors/subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of MEP installation, coordination, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
- Experience in managing MEP teams and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and project management teams.
- Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, BOQ, quality requirements, and HSE procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under project deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
