Jobitus is seeking a Sr. Manager – Maintenance (Electrical) to lead the electrical maintenance function at our manufacturing plant in India. You will drive strategies for preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, ensuring high equipment availability and safety standards.
You will mentor a large maintenance team, manage CAPEX projects, monitor KPIs, and optimize energy use while controlling OPEX. Strong leadership and industrial automation expertise are essential.
A Sr. Manager – Maintenance (Electrical) is responsible for leading and managing the overall electrical maintenance function of the manufacturing plant, ensuring high equipment availability, reliability, safety, and minimum production downtime. The role involves developing maintenance strategies, managing electrical and automation systems, leading maintenance teams, controlling maintenance costs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintenance Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies for all plant electrical equipment to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and mentor electrical maintenance engineers, technicians, electricians, and supervisors. Allocate manpower effectively and ensure timely execution of maintenance activities.
Plant Electrical Systems: Oversee installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems including HT/LT panels, transformers, MCC/PCC, motors, DG sets, UPS, APFC panels, power distribution systems, and plant utilities.
Automation & Controls: Lead troubleshooting and maintenance of PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD, servo drives, sensors, control panels, and other industrial automation systems.
Breakdown Management: Ensure quick response to electrical breakdowns and minimize production losses. Lead RCA, corrective actions, and preventive measures for recurring equipment failures.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Ensure effective execution of PM/PdM schedules and condition-monitoring activities. Track equipment health and identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.
Plant Utilities: Ensure reliable electrical operation of plant utilities and critical equipment such as compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, cooling systems, DG sets, and other utility equipment.
Maintenance KPIs: Monitor and improve key maintenance parameters such as MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, breakdown frequency, PM compliance, energy consumption, and maintenance cost.
CAPEX & Projects: Plan and execute electrical maintenance projects, plant expansion, equipment installation, commissioning, and improvement projects. Participate in CAPEX planning and technical evaluation of new equipment.
Budget & Cost Control: Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, control OPEX, optimize repair costs, and ensure availability of critical electrical spares and consumables.
Vendor & Contractor Management: Manage external vendors, contractors, OEMs, and service providers for electrical maintenance, AMC, equipment installation, commissioning, and specialized services.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, statutory regulations, LOTO procedures, company safety standards, and applicable industry requirements. Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions.
Energy Management: Monitor plant electrical energy consumption and identify opportunities for energy conservation, power-factor improvement, and reduction of electrical losses.
Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives related to TPM, Kaizen, Lean Maintenance, reliability improvement, energy saving, and maintenance cost reduction.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain maintenance records, breakdown history, PM schedules, equipment history, SOPs, and management reports. Present maintenance performance and improvement plans to senior management.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: 10–15+ years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing/industrial environment, preferably with 4–6+ years in a managerial/senior leadership role.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, HT/LT distribution, transformers, motors, MCC/PCC, VFDs, control panels, DG sets, UPS, APFC, and plant utilities.
Automation Knowledge: Good working knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD, servo drives, sensors, and industrial automation systems.
Leadership: Strong experience in managing large electrical maintenance teams, manpower planning, shift operations, training, and performance management.
Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting, RCA, decision-making, and failure-analysis capabilities.
Maintenance Systems: Experience with CMMS / SAP PM / computerized maintenance systems and maintenance KPI monitoring.
Safety: Strong knowledge of electrical safety, LOTO, statutory compliance, risk assessment, and safe maintenance practices.
Candidates from automobile, auto-component, engineering, heavy manufacturing, machinery, or other large-scale industrial manufacturing plants with strong experience in electrical maintenance, plant utilities, and industrial automation would be preferred.
