Job Purpose
The role is responsible for performing accounting processes based on accounting standards, including payment preparation, posting, records maintenance, reconciliation of accounts, inventory control, statistical records, finalisation of Balance Sheet, cost control, taxation matters, etc. The account team must work on laid down processes by maintaining a high level of efficiencies and efficacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement financial policies for timely management of company affairs and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Initiate and drive Annual Operating Plan and execute month‑on‑month to achieve organisational goals.
- Identify cost‑optimisation processes and work with cross‑functional teams to increase gross margin.
- Monitor business growth and revenue as per the AOP and inform management to reduce deviations.
- Plan and ensure efficient management of funds, treasury, commercial activities, etc.
- Implement timely and accurate insurance & re‑insurance activities of company assets.
- Prepare annual budget and cash flow forecast and variances against budgets.
- Identify and work with cross‑functional teams to increase gross margin of products.
- Regular monitoring of Working Capital, fixed and variable cost and take corrective actions.
- Manage daily operations of the accounts department.
- Ensure timely preparation and finalisation of monthly, quarterly, half‑yearly and yearly MIS, P&L and balance sheets.
- Maintain, reconcile and analyse debtors and creditors’ accounts.
- Ensure monthly inter‑unit reconciliations.
- Provide accurate and timely data for internal/external audits.
- Improve accounting systems and procedures; initiate corrective actions.
- Ensure timely payment to vendors and other parties.
- Ensure timely processing of payroll and manage reimbursements.
- Import/export documentation & accounting.
- Prepare documents for tax audit, liaise with tax auditors and file with tax authorities.
- Implement policies & procedures to analyse & assess risks and establish controls.
- Research tax laws and regulations; provide technically and commercially sound advice for GST, Income Tax, Service Tax, TDS, Excise and other taxes.
- Verification and timely payment of customs duty and other levies.
- Represent before tax authorities for notices, assessments, investigations, appeals.
- Treasury management: liaison with bank, preparation of loan proposals, renewal of limits, banking compliances, FOREX management.
- Reconcile bank and investment accounts regularly.
- Build and maintain harmonious relations with banking and investment institutions.
- Provide daily banking requirements of the organisation.
- Share financial details with banks for existing or new loans.
- Ensure availability of team per manpower plan and budget.
- Create successors for key positions.
- Impart group vision, mission and values across team.
- Motivate, monitor and manage team in a high‑growth environment.
- Ensure defined KRAs and KPIs for role clarity and performance measures.
- Close monitoring of team performance; proactive design to enhance productivity via training & development.
