Job summary

Adler Talent Solutions Pvt Ltd is seeking a candidate for Tendering and Estimation roles for AIS/GIS substations and HV transmission projects in Mumbai. The role covers tender identification, technical tendering, costing, and commercial bid preparation.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in tendering and estimation for 33kV–765kV substations, with a strong grasp of technical and commercial bid processes. Collaboration with BD/Marketing and management teams is essential.

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

1. Tender Identification & Analysis

• Identify and track tenders related to AIS/GIS Substations, EHV/HV substations and power transmission projects.
• Review tender documents, RFPs, RFQs, BOQs, specifications, drawings and contractual conditions.
• Analyze tender scope, technical requirements, eligibility criteria, commercial terms, payment terms, LDs, warranties and other contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with Business Development/Marketing teams for tender opportunities and bid strategy.

2. Technical Tendering

• Prepare and review technical offers for substation projects.
• Understand and evaluate specifications for:
  • Power Transformers
  • GIS/AIS Switchgear
  • Circuit Breakers
    • Isolators
    • CTs/PTs/CVTs
    • Protection & Control Panels
    • SCADA/Automation
    • Battery & Battery Chargers
    • Earthing & Lightning Protection
    • Cables and Cable Trays
    • Busbars
    • Civil and Structural works
• Prepare technical compliance statements, deviations and clarification documents.
• Review SLDs, equipment specifications, BOQs and technical schedules.

3. Estimation & Costing

• Prepare detailed BOQ-based estimation and costing for substation EPC projects.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors/subcontractors.
• Prepare material, equipment, manpower, installation, testing & commissioning and other project cost estimates.
• Analyze vendor quotations and negotiate commercially wherever required.
• Ensure accuracy of project costing and maintain competitiveness of bids.

4. Commercial Tendering

• Prepare commercial bids in accordance with tender requirements.
• Review commercial terms, taxes, duties, freight, insurance, payment terms, retention, performance guarantees and liquidated damages.
• Prepare price schedules, commercial deviations and cost summaries.
• Support management in determining final bid prices and margins.

5. Tender Submission

• Coordinate complete bid preparation and submission within stipulated timelines.
• Ensure all technical, commercial, statutory and eligibility documents are available and compliant.
• Prepare tender checklists and ensure no critical document/requirement is missed.
• Handle pre-bid queries and coordinate responses with technical, commercial and management teams.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and clarification discussions with clients.

6. Post-Bid Activities

• Coordinate responses to client clarifications and technical/commercial queries.
• Support negotiations, reverse auctions and price discussions where applicable.
• Analyze competitors and market pricing to support bidding strategy.
• Assist in contract finalization and handover of awarded projects to the execution team.

Preferred candidate profile:

Candidates from Power Transmission, Substation EPC, Electrical EPC, Infrastructure or Power Sector companies with hands-on experience in tendering and estimation of 33kV/66kV/110kV/132kV/220kV/400kV/765kV substations would be preferred.
