Job Context
The Manager – Tendering is responsible for managing the end-to-end tendering process to convert business opportunities into profitable orders. The role collaborates with sales, engineering, supply chain, finance, and operations teams to develop competitive, compliant, and commercially viable bids. In a competitive power distribution and electrical equipment market, the position drives bid success by evaluating opportunities, managing commercial risks, ensuring contractual compliance, and improving tender win rates. The role directly contributes to revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion through successful participation in RMU, switchgear, utility, EPC, and industrial tenders.
Key Accountabilities;
Tender Management
- Review RFQs, tenders, customer specifications, and bidding documents.
- Lead end-to-end tendering activities for RMUs, MV Switchgear, Secondary Distribution Solutions, and related products.
- Ensure timely submission of technical and commercial bids.
- Monitor tender deadlines and maintain bid submission schedules.
Technical Proposal Development
- Analyze customer requirements, SLDs, technical specifications, and BOQs.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Design, Production, and SCM teams for technical inputs.
- Prepare comprehensive technical offers ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
- Identify deviations, exceptions, and compliance statements.

Commercial Proposal Preparation
- Prepare cost estimates and pricing strategies aligned with profitability targets.
- Evaluate project risks and commercial terms.
- Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, and Operations for costing inputs.
- Negotiate and finalize commercial aspects during bid clarification stages.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as a central interface among Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customers.
- Support Sales teams during customer meetings, pre-bid meetings, and technical discussions.
- Work closely with regional sales teams for opportunity assessment and bid strategy.
Contract Review & Risk Assessment
- Review contractual terms and conditions.
- Identify commercial and contractual risks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Participate in bid review and approval processes.
- Preparation of monthly report for the business
- Internal audit clearance for sales and marketing
Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Track industry trends, competitor offerings, and pricing practices.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying market opportunities.
- Maintain a repository of historical bids, pricing references, and tender outcomes.
Process Improvement
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement in tendering processes.
- Develop bid templates, technical libraries, and costing tools.
- Improve tender win rates through effective bid management practices.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum Experience:
8-12 years of experience in Tendering, Proposals, Estimation, or Bid Management within:
- RMU Manufacturing
- Medium Voltage Switchgear
- Power Distribution Equipment
- Electrical EPC
- Utility Projects
- Experience in handling domestic tenders.
Technical Competencies
Strong knowledge of:
