Job summary

Polmon Instruments Pvt Ltd in Hyderabad, Heat Pumps Division, is seeking a Sr. Manager / AGM to lead manufacturing and assembly operations for industrial chillers and heat-pump systems.

The role involves overseeing fabrication, refrigeration piping, heat-exchanger assembly, and electrical integration, with hands-on experience in high-capacity heat pumps up to 500 kW. You will drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Kaizen initiatives across production.

• Develop production layouts, tooling, fixtures and standard work.
• Drive productivity, lead time reduction, and material flow improvements.
• Build and manage production engineers, supervisors and technicians.
• Establish manufacturing KPIs covering output, OEE, quality and cost.

Experience:

• 12 to 20 years relevant experience, with practical engineering exposure. Design Engineers should be stronger in calculations/design/drawings.

Job Description

• Own complete manufacturing and assembly operations for industrial chillers and heat-pump systems.
• Lead fabrication, refrigeration piping, brazing/welding, heat-exchanger assembly, mechanical assembly, electrical integration, insulation and final testing.
• Have hands-on manufacturing experience with higher-capacity industrial heat pumps up to approximately 500 kW.
• Establish manufacturing processes for heat-pump modules, hot-water circuits, refrigeration circuits, compressors, heat exchangers and associated components.
• Establish robust processes for refrigeration piping, brazing, pressure testing, leak testing, evacuation, charging and functional/performance testing.
• Develop production layouts, workstations, tooling, fixtures, standard work and assembly methods.
• Improve productivity, cycle time, manpower utilization, manufacturing capacity and material flow.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and continuous-improvement practices.
• Develop manufacturing quality checkpoints and first-time-right practices for chillers and heat pumps.
• Lead prototype-to-production transfer and manufacturing ramp-up of new chiller and heat-pump models.
• Work closely with Design Engineering on DFM/DFA and resolve manufacturing issues arising during product development.
• Develop and manage vendors for fabrication, sheet metal, machining, heat exchangers, piping and other critical components.
• Drive reduction in rework, rejection, material wastage, manufacturing cost and production lead time.
• Build and manage production engineers, supervisors and skilled technicians; establish competency and training matrices.
• Establish manufacturing KPIs covering output, OEE, productivity, quality, rework, delivery and cost.
• Build a scalable manufacturing organization capable of producing higher-capacity chillers and heat pumps reliably and repeatedly.
