Job summary

Polmon Instruments Pvt Ltd in Hyderabad seeks an experienced Design Engineer to lead the development of industrial chillers, refrigeration systems and heat pumps up to 500 kW. You will drive thermodynamic design, component selection and system architecture, coordinating with manufacturing and vendors to industrialize designs.

Candidates should have 10–15 years of relevant experience, a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, and strong skills in calculations,

Qualifications

• 10 to 15 years relevant experience, with practical engineering exposure.
• Design Engineers should be stronger in calculations/design/drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of industrial chillers, refrigeration systems and heat pumps up to approximately 500 kW.
• Lead refrigeration-cycle selection, thermodynamic design, compressor and heat-exchanger selection, system architecture and validation.
• Establish engineering standards, design methods, component libraries, NPD gates, technical reviews and DFM/DFA practices.
• Perform and review refrigeration-cycle, capacity, COP/EER, heat-transfer and pressure-drop calculations.
• Develop and review P&IDs;, refrigeration schematics, piping layouts, equipment specifications, BOMs and engineering drawings.
• Select and optimize compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion devices, pumps, valves, receivers and controls.
• Develop and test industrial heat pumps up to approximately 500 kW, including high temperature and hot-water applications.
• Lead prototype assembly, testing, performance validation, troubleshooting and design modifications.
• Work closely with manufacturing, controls, procurement and vendors to industrialize designs.
• Build design standards, documentation, revision control and technical specifications.
• Mentor design engineers and drive disciplined product-development practices.
• Experience with low-temperature refrigeration, process cooling, specialty fluids, cascade systems or advanced heat-pump applications is an advantage.
