AXIS GeoAviation LLC is seeking a Sr Java Developer to join our team in Chennai/Delhi with remote work options. The role focuses on backend development, API design, and cross-functional collaboration in an agile environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, JPA, and modern JavaScript frameworks. You will work with DevOps tools and contribute to high-quality software delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Developer or similar role.
• Extensive knowledge of Java with Spring Boot and JPA.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js preferred; Angular/React also ok).
• Experience with automated testing using JUnit, RestAssured, Cypress.
• Experience in DevOps and Agile environments (Jenkins, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence).

Overview and purpose of the role

The Developer will be responsible for developing and designing, backend development and ensuring the responsiveness of applications. You should be a team player with a knack for visual design and comfortable agile methodology for development. Have exposure to DevOps and Test Driven Development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design client-side and server-side architecture
• Write effective APIs
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
• Write technical documentation

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Developer or similar role
• Experience developing desktop and mobile applications
• Familiarity with common stacks
• Extensive Knowledge of Java along with Spring Boot Framework, JPA
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks. Preferrable VueJs. Angular, React experience will also be considered.
• Extensive experience on automated testing using Junit, RestAssured and Cypress
• Familiarity with TDD, feature file creation and conversion to test cases
• Familiarity with databases (Postgres SQL), web servers and UI/UX design
• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries ( e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
• Familiarity with Jasper
• Experience of working in DevOps and Agile environment. Preferably conversant with Jenkins, Jira, Bitbucket and Confluence
• Excellent communication, teamwork skills and attention to detail
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering
