Job summary

Alation is seeking a Sr. GTM AI Analyst to design and build AI-powered GTM automation across systems, APIs, and workflows. You’ll blend software engineering with go-to-market strategy to optimize revenue operations and enable faster, data-driven decisions.

The role reports to the Director of GTM Operations and sits in a hybrid Chennai office. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in RevOps or related tech roles, strong coding skills, and experience with GTM platforms and CRM tools.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in revenue ops, growth engineering, or a technical GTM role in B2B SaaS.
• Strong software fundamentals; production-quality scripts and debugging.

Job Description

We are looking for a Sr. GTM AI Analyst to build, automate, and scale the systems that power Alation's revenue engine. This is not a traditional ops or analyst role - you will write code, architect automation workflows, ship AI-powered systems, and deploy intelligent agents to create pipeline and accelerate revenue. Think of this as a GTM Engineer meets AI Strategist - someone who can analyze what's broken, design the fix, and build it themselves.

Reporting to the Director of GTM Operations, you'll sit at the intersection of software engineering, operations, and go-to-market strategy. While RevOps keeps our systems running and our teams aligned, you'll be the builder who makes those systems smarter, faster, and more autonomous. You think in workflows, APIs, and logic - not in spreadsheets and slide decks. If you see a manual process, your instinct is to engineer it away. If you see a signal, your instinct is to act on it - automatically.

This role requires someone who understands how software is built - not just how tools are configured. You should be as comfortable reading a codebase, writing a Python script, or debugging an API integration as you are mapping a lead-to-opportunity workflow. You'll design and deploy AI-first GTM orchestrations using platforms like Gumloop, n8n, Clay, Make, and Zapier - connecting them to our core stack and extending them with custom code where the platforms fall short.

We're looking for someone who is genuinely motivated by Alation's mission to help the world find, understand, and trust data - and who sees AI not as a buzzword but as the fastest path to better outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Build AI-powered GTM workflows - design and deploy automated systems for lead enrichment, signal-based outreach, lead scoring, and campaign orchestration using tools like Clay, Gumloop, n8n, Make, Zapier, AI agents, and custom APIs.
• Architect and manage GTM orchestration pipelines - own the design, deployment, and monitoring of multi-step automation workflows across orchestration platforms. Evaluate, select, and combine tools (Gumloop for AI agent workflows, n8n for complex branching logic, Clay for enrichment, Make/Zapier for system glue) based on what each problem demands - not vendor loyalty.
• Engineer the GTM stack - connect and extend Salesforce, Marketo, Outreach, 6sense, and enrichment tools through custom integrations, APIs, webhooks, and automation platforms to eliminate manual handoffs and data gaps. Write custom code (Python, JavaScript, or similar) when out-of-the-box connectors aren't enough.
• Run rapid experiments - prototype, test, and iterate on new GTM motions (AI-generated sequences, intent-based triggers, dynamic segmentation, agent-driven outreach) with a bias toward speed and measurable impact. Treat every workflow as a hypothesis to be validated.
• Automate pipeline operations - build systems that monitor buying signals, trigger plays, enrich records, and route leads in real time - reducing time-to-action from days to minutes.
• Power analytics with clean data - ensure enrichment, deduplication, and hygiene workflows feed accurate, timely data into dashboards and attribution models.
• Collaborate across the revenue org - partner with Marketing, Sales, Enablement, and RevOps to identify high-leverage automation opportunities and ship solutions that the team can scale.
• Document and hand off - build with the team in mind. Write clear documentation so that what you prototype can be adopted, maintained, and improved by the broader ops team.

What You Bring

• 3–5 years of experience in revenue operations, growth engineering, marketing operations, software engineering, or a technical GTM function in a B2B SaaS environment.
• Software engineering foundation - you understand how code works at a fundamental level. You've written production-quality scripts, worked with version control (Git), understand data structures, and can debug a broken API call without waiting for help. Formal CS/engineering education or equivalent hands-on experience required.
• Technical proficiency - SQL is required. Python or JavaScript proficiency is required. Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, JSON/XML parsing, and scripting for data manipulation is expected. You're comfortable reading docs, working in a terminal, and building integrations from scratch - not just dragging and dropping.
• Mandatory experience with GTM orchestration platforms - hands-on, demonstrated experience building workflows in at least two of: Clay, Gumloop, n8n, Make, or Zapier. You should understand the strengths and limitations of each, know when to use a no-code platform vs. custom code, and have opinions on which tool is best for what job.
• Hands-on expertise with GTM tools - deep working knowledge of Salesforce and Marketo, with practical experience in at least two of: Outreach, 6sense, ZoomInfo, Apollo, or similar platforms.
• AI-native mindset - you already use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) daily in your work and are always looking for the next workflow to automate. You've built AI agent workflows, experimented with prompt chaining, and understand how to orchestrate LLMs within GTM systems. This isn't aspirational for you - it's how you operate.
• Builder mentality - you'd rather ship an 80% solution today and iterate than spec a perfect one for next quarter. You move with urgency and own the outcome.
• Analytical rigor - you understand funnel mechanics, attribution, and pipeline math. You don't just build automations - you measure whether they work.
• Strong communication skills - you can explain what you built, why it matters, and how it performs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across time zones.

What Sets You Apart

• Experience building end-to-end AI agent workflows in Gumloop or n8n - including multi-step chains with branching logic, API calls, and LLM nodes.
• Experience building automated enrichment and outreach workflows in Clay - including waterfall enrichment, AI-generated personalization, and CRM write-back.
• A background in software development or engineering with a deliberate pivot into GTM/RevOps - you chose this lane, not defaulted into it.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (Snowflake, dbt) and how GTM data flows into BI and reporting layers.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code or workflow-as-code approaches to managing automation pipelines.
• Exposure to consumption-based or usage-based business models.
• A portfolio or examples of GTM systems you've built - we'd love to see what you've shipped.
