Job summary

Aluplast in Vadodara, India is seeking a Tooling Shift In-charge to lead tool maintenance, setup and room operations. You will oversee preventive maintenance, tool changeovers, layout preparation and SOP implementation to ensure smooth production handovers.

Qualifications

• Experience as Tooling Shift In-charge or similar role in world-class manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Extruders, Downstreams, Haul-offs, Tooling, Materials, Plastic Processing and Testing Machineries.
• Proficiency in AUTOCAD, Excel, Word, Power Point.
• Hands-on experience in ISO 9001:2015.

Responsibilities

• Tool Maintenance: Plan and execute preventive maintenance of tools and upkeep for next production run.
• Tool set up: Lead tool changeovers, start-up production and handover; prepare tool layouts and SOPs; train and troubleshoot.
• Tool room operations: Plan and execute machining and polishing of tools; develop new tool designs and layouts.
• Line balancing: Test tools on suitable lines, establish standards for handover, optimize capacity and reduce changeover time.
• Test runs: Run tools with new recipes, adjust for engineering changes, optimize output and weight for cost/productivity.
• Team development: Identify training needs, train and motivate team; ensure safety and tool room upkeep.

Role & responsibilities

Tool Maintenance:

• Plan & execution of preventive maintenance of tool, Upkeep of tool for next production run.

Tool set up:

• Leading the team for Tool change over, start-up of production and hand over to production. Preparing tool lay-outs and standards, Implementation of SOP, training and troubleshooting of tool / production

Tool room operations:

• Job plan and execution of machining, polishing of tools
• New Tool development: Inputs for profile design, extrusion direction, tool specifications, Tool lay-out keeping common parts for efficient tool change over.

Line balancing:

• Tools tested on all suitable capacity line, fine tuning and establishing standard for hand over to Production, capacity utilization, tool sequencing to reduce tool change over time

Test runs:

• Testing of tools with new recipes, modification in case of engineering change. Optimizing the output and meter weight of profile along with production in charge for cost and productivity

Team development:

• Identification training needs, imparting training and motivation for achieving common goal
• Achieving defined level of safety and Tool room upkeep

Preferred candidate profile

• Good Communication and Analytical Skills
• Proven Experience as Tooling Shift In-charge or Similar role with world class manufacturing, Problem Solving Tools, CAPA / TPM knowledge
• Knowledge of Extruders, Down streams, Haul offs, Tooling, Materials, Plastic Processing and Testing Machineries
• Proficiency in AUTOCAD, Excel, Word, Power point
• Hands on experience in ISO 9001:2015.
