Job summary

Sperton Global AS in Sinnar is seeking a Support – Tooling to oversee tooling activities within a section of the manufacturing process to meet production requirements.

The role requires 1–2 years of tooling experience, SMED knowledge, hobbing and induction hardening familiarity, and AutoCAD proficiency. You will contribute to tool cost reduction, spare management, and operator training.

Qualifications

• BE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–2 years tooling experience.
• Knowledge of tool repairing, maintenance and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to monthly tooling provision plan in line with PPC.
• Manage tooling in Ring Forming, Hobbing & Induction Hardening.
• Plan PM and new tooling procurement.
• Manage critical spares.
• Control tooling-related breakdowns.
• Train new associates in Tool Room.
• Aim to reduce tool costs (hobs and cutters).

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To look after the tooling activities in a section of the manufacturing process so as to fulfill the production requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROL...e

• To adhere to monthly tooling provision plan in line with PPC plan.


• Responsible for tooling activities in all the processes, i.e. Ring Forming, Hobbing & Induction Hardening.


• Planning activities for P.M. & new tooling procurement.


• Critical spare management.


• Responsible to control tooling-related breakdowns.


• Responsible to train the new associates in Tool Room department.


• Responsible for reduction in tool cost, i.e. Hobs & Tooth Chamfer Cutters.

Education Qualification:

• BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Technical & Professional Knowledge Required:

• Tooling-related knowledge.


• Knowledge of SMED.


• Knowledge of Hobbing and Induction Hardening processes.


• AutoCAD knowledge.


• Hob & Cutter tool-related knowledge.

Experience Required:

1–2 years of experience in the following:

• Tooling activities.


• Training operators/associates.


• Knowledge of tool repairing, maintenance, P.M. & AutoCAD.
