Job summary

DC Consultants in Chennai invites an experienced Purchasing/Procurement leader to drive supplier cost reduction, manage SAP MM module, and oversee strategic sourcing for manufacturing programs.

You will negotiate terms, ensure compliance with NDAs and contracts, run RFQs, monitor supplier performance, and coordinate cross‑region cost improvement initiatives to optimize price, quality and delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a reputed company.
• Bachelor's degree and equivalent work experience; Plastic/Sheet metal fabrication preferred.
• 3-5 years of buying experience, preferably commodities in a manufacturing environment or Project Purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Leads set cost reduction objectives and develop cost reduction strategies with suppliers.
• Manages selection and sourcing of suppliers as part of the strategic supply base while meeting program commitments and requirements.
• Conducts market tests and cost control renegotiations to maintain cost competitiveness.
• Serves as first point of contact and liaison to the supply base.
• Leads negotiation of the Purchase Terms and Conditions with each supplier.
• Supports Advanced Purchasing with cost reduction strategies or sourcing of new suppliers to support new programs.
• Manages the selection of alternate sources of suppliers to ensure continuity, consistency of quality and competitive pricing.
• Manages Supplier performance according to QCDE (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Environmental) to achieve overall targets and objectives.
• Champions the SCR (Supplier Change Request), ensure SCR's are closed out on time defined within the process.
• Processes RFQ's system, while maintaining price contracts.
• Ensures compliance with all documentation (including NDA, supplier contracts, and Price evaluation reports).
• Conducts Executive Supplier reviews with key suppliers to improve overall performance.
• Ensures data integrity and compliance with Purchasing cost reduction road map.
• Issues Tooling Purchase Orders, obtains confirmation from suppliers to support Business Unit payment.
• Supports/Achieves Global cost improvement initiatives, Identifies savings opportunities and works with each Regional Commodity Team on cross regional projects.
• Manages Supply Chain optimization through price harmonization, localization and logistics routes.

Education Qualification
