Job summary

CorroHealth, Inc. is seeking a Medical Coder with 2–4 years of IP DRG experience to join our clinical coding team in India. The role emphasizes accurate document review, coding to ICD-9/ICD-10-CM and related systems, and adherence to coding policies.

The candidate should hold a Life Science degree and AHIMA certification (CCS/CCSP/CCA preferred), with strong communication and organizational skills to ensure patient records are complete and compliant.

Qualifications

• Life Science graduation or equivalent with Anatomy/Physiology as main subjects.
• 2 to 4 years of work experience as a medical coder with IP DRG.
• AHIMA coding certifications CCS, CCSP, or CCA are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Extract relevant information from patient records.
• Examine documents for missing information.
• Assign IP DRG, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9/ICD-10-CM, APC, DRG and ASA codes.
• Ensure documents are grammatically correct and free from errors.
• Perform chart audits.
• Inform supervisor of equipment or program issues.
• Ensure compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines.
• Ensure codes align with doctors' diagnoses.
• Stay updated on new coding rules as codes change.
• Distribute coding related information and billing issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Extracting relevant information from patient records
• Examining documents for missing information
• Assigning IP DRG, CPT, HCPCS, ICD to9/ICD10CM, APC, DRG and ASA codes
• Ensuring documents are grammatically correct and free from typing errors
• Performing chart audits
• Informing supervisor of issues with equipment and computer program
• Ensuring compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines
• Ensuring that codes tally with doctors' diagnosis
• Be updated about new coding rules as codes change from time to time
• Collecting and distributing coding related information and billing issues

Required Expertise & Qualification:

• Life Science graduation or any equivalent graduation with Anatomy/Physiology as main subjects
• 2 to 4 years of work experience as a medical coder with IP DRG
• Any one of the following coding certifications CCS, CCSP, CCA from AHIMA
• Proficient computer skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong people skills & Outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
