Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and qualified professional to manage and oversee the operations of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and related Water Treatment Facilities (WTP, STP, RO) in a dairy processing plant. The role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership, and hands‑on involvement in ensuring efficient plant operations while strictly adhering to Pollution Control Board (PCB) regulations and plant safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain all equipment related to ETP and WTP, including pumps, valves, blowers, dosing systems, etc.
- Ensure full compliance with PCB norms and all relevant statutory environmental regulations.
- Monitor key effluent and water parameters (pH, BOD, COD, TDS) and maintain proper records.
- Supervise day-to-day operations, ensuring correct chemical dosing and process efficiency.
- Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities for the plant equipment.
- Prepare and maintain logs, reports, and documentation related to wastewater treatment, disposal, and chemical usage.
- Coordinate with external agencies and pollution control authorities for inspections, sampling, and analysis.
- Handle and store chemicals safely as per standard operating procedures.
- Train and supervise operators and support staff to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
- Follow and enforce plant safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
Qualification & Experience:
- Any Science Graduate with Diploma in Environmental Science with 6-8 years of hands‑on experience in ETP operations & maintenance
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with 8-10 years of relevant experience in ETP operations & maintenance
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of dairy effluent treatment processes and operational requirements
- Knowledge of PCB compliance, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems (if applicable)
- Experience with SCADA or automated ETP systems (preferred)
- Effective team supervision and ability to manage plant issues or upsets
- Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and statutory compliance
- Commitment to safety procedures and SOPs in a processing environment
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and attend to emergencies as required
