Job summary

Diageo Americas is seeking a seasoned Blending Specialist to manage flavour re-engineering and shelf‑life improvements for our blending operations. You will lead formulation revisions, cost approvals and stock liquidation to ensure non‑disruptive production.

Key duties include coordinating with PnC and Sourcing on blend costs, extending SAP material codes, and driving the digitisation of blending formulas for authorised users.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Alcohol Technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in distillery/blending roles.
• Strong mathematical and data-handling capabilities.
• High integrity and professional congruence.
• Excellent organoleptic sensory skills and blending recognition.
• Familiarity with SAP systems.

Responsibilities

• Blending: re-engineer formulations per requirements; prepare revised formulations and approvals; manage liquidation of old or non-moving stocks; determine ENA component and blend cost; coordinate start-up details for commercialisation.
• Operations: coordinate with PnC and Sourcing on blend cost, manage material codes in SAP, extend materials to new units, create and approve Blend BOMs and SKUs; oversee liquidation of old stocks.
• Digitisation: drive digitisation of blending formulas and control access for authorised blending personnel.

Purpose of the role

The role is responsible for food flavour management & re‑engineering with the objective of controlling flavour movements & extending shelf life with a basic deliverance of catering uniform quality blends for packing operation in a non‑disruptive manner.

Qualification

• M.Sc. with Alcohol Technology Experience:
• Minimum 5 years in Distillery/blending Knowledge & skills:
• Mathematical and data handling skills
• Personal congruence and Integrity
• Best Suited for Someone who has got excellent organoleptic sensory skills
• Has received any recognition on preparation of blends
• Is familiar in working on SAP

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. 1 Blending - Blend re‑engineering and changes as per requirements, related to BLIMP - Prepare revised formulations & approval - Implement methods recommended for liquidation of old & non‑moving stocks - Work out ENA component & Blend cost and approval of e‑start‑up's for commercialisation - Provide details of start‑up requirements to BCC
2. 2 Operations - Co‑ordinate with PnC & Sourcing on blend cost workings - Co‑ordinate with SAP & approve new material codes creation, extension of material to new units, Blend BOM creation & approvals, Blend & SKU codes creation, verification and approvals of Blend BOM's in new units. - Approve revised blend BOM's for use & liquidation of old & non moving stocks. - Stock‑taking of Special Spirits through SAP‑reduce manual compilation.
3. 3 Digitisation - Drive digitisation of Blending formulae and access creation for authorised blending i/c's
