Job summary

Tata AutoComp Systems Limited in Pune district, Maharashtra seeks a hands-on Production Manager to supervise daily assembly line activities, ensure on-time production, and coordinate with Planning, Stores, Maintenance and Quality teams.

You will manage operators and contract workforce, ensure material availability, monitor hourly output, and drive FPY and lean initiatives to minimize downtime and deviations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily assembly line activities to meet production schedules and targets.
• Ensure smooth operation of assembly processes with minimum downtime.
• Monitor hourly production output and take corrective actions for deviations.
• Coordinate with Planning, Stores, Maintenance, and Quality teams for uninterrupted production.
• Ensure material availability and proper workflow on the assembly line.
• Allocate manpower effectively based on production requirements.
• Manage operators, technicians, and contract workforce.
• Monitor attendance, discipline, and shift activities.
• Conduct skill development and on-the-job training for operators.
• Foster teamwork and maintain a positive work environment.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and work instructions.
• Monitor in-process quality and prevent defects at source.
• Coordinate with the Quality team for defect analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive First Pass Yield (FPY) and reduce rework and rejection levels.
• Participate in customer and internal quality audits.
• Drive productivity enhancement initiatives through line balancing and process optimization.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Poka-Yoke activities.
• Monitor KPIs such as productivity, efficiency, rejection rates, and OEE.
• Support cost reduction and waste elimination initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all EHS and company safety requirements.
• Conduct safety observations and toolbox talks.
• Promote safe work practices on the shop floor.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and organizational standards.
