Job summary

Tata Communications in Chennai is seeking a Network Engineer IT Operations Infrastructure to handle daily network operations, troubleshoot, and implement connectivity for ODC/DC/Customer sites.

The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco switches, Fortinet firewalls, and VPN deployments, along with strong TCP/IP knowledge and SLA-driven performance. You will coordinate with ISPs and update network runbooks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 24 years of experience with Cisco switching/routing, Fortinet firewall administration, and core TCP/IP networking.
• Familiar with configuration backup tools and L2/L3 troubleshooting (ping, traceroute, log analysis).
• Working knowledge of ISP coordination and MPLS/IP architectures.

Responsibilities

• Handle incidents and perform device health checks on Cisco switches and Fortinet firewalls.
• Implement configuration changes: port configurations, VLAN assignments, firewall policies, VPNs, QoS, NAT.
• Provide firewall policy deployment VPN support (site-to-site/remote access).
• Monitor network and perform preventive maintenance; escalate per L1 procedure.
• Backup configurations and coordinate change implementations with field operations.
• Work with service providers for bandwidth provisioning, fault escalations, and WAN links.
• Maintain and update network documentation and runbooks.

• Implement configuration changes: port configurations, VLAN assignments,firewallpolicy deployments, IPSec VPNs, QoS, NAT policies.
• Providefirewallpolicy deployment VPN support (site-to-site/remote access).
• Monitor network and perform preventive maintenance; elevate as per L1 procedure.
• Backup configurations and coordinate change implementations with field operations.
• Work with service providers (ISP/MPLS carriers) for bandwidth provisioning, fault escalations, and WAN links.
• Maintain and update network documentation and runbooks.
