Job summary

Tech Plaastic Industrie in Tamil Nadu is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the Toolroom team, including designers, programmers, and operators. You will ensure mould projects meet customer requirements on time and within budget, while maintaining quality standards.

The role requires 12–18 years in plastic mould design/manufacture, with hands-on experience in PMD/CIPET pathways and IATF 16949 documentation. On-site role offering strong growth and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in plastic mould technology or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 12–18 years in design and manufacture of plastic injection/thermoset moulds, last 3 years independent mould development.
• Experience in manufacturing IM moulds, mould finishing and processes like laser etching, chemical etching.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Toolroom team including Designers, Programmers and Operators to deliver projects on time.
• Prepare feasibility studies and costing for RFQs and budgets.
• Collaborate with Sales to convert RFQs into POs and ensure design reviews in SolidWorks.
• Review all mould designs for quality and adherence to customer specs.
• Identify and negotiate with vendors; ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Oversee development of new moulds and hand-over to production with complete documentation.
• Maintain IATF 16949 documentation and perform regular planning for maintenance.
• Coordinate with external toolroom vendors and review machining hour utilization.
• Provide training and retain the Toolroom team; report progress to management.

About The Job

We are looking for an experienced candidate to be a part our fast growing Toolroom team.

If selected, the candidate will be in charge of leading all team members - Designer, Programmer & Operators. The Sr Engineer must ensure all toolroom projects are completed on time as per customer requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Candidate must have experience with mould concept design to arrive at Budgetary quote
• Complete feasibility analysis & costing for all RFQs
• Work with Sales & Marketing to convert RFQs into POs
• Review of all mould design using Solidworks
• Identify good vendors, negotiate , complete activities on time & with budget
• Complete development of New Moulds on time, within budget, and hand over to production with all relevant documentation
• Ensure all Toolroom team members are performing as per expectations
• Responsible for training & retaining of toolroom team
• IATF 16949 Documentation to be prepared and maintained
• Daily, weekly & monthly plans to be prepared for preventive/ breakdown maintenance of moulds, toolroom machines
• Must coordinate with other toolroom vendors
• Must regularly & Independently review machining hour calculation & utilization
• Must be able to identify problems, give solutions to prevent delays in deliverables
• Must be able to work without supervision & capable of reporting to management

Desired Candidate Profile

• DPMT Diploma in Plastic Mould Technology with PD PMD from CIPET/NTTF /GTTC
• Min. 12-18 years of experience in design and manufacture of plastic injection/ thermoset moulds, with last 3 years independent experience of manufacturing new moulds
• Must have experience managing projects involving manufacturing IM moulds & mould finishing including activities such as laser etching, chemical etching etc
• Fluent in MS OFFICE (Primarily MS Excel)
• Good Communication Skill (English 3/5 || Tamil 4/5)
• Must be within 40 mins by bike ride to the factory or willing to relocate
