Qualifications

The Impact You'll Make

As a Sr. Engineer – I&D Prototyping & Allied Support, you'll play a critical role in enabling innovation and product development across Danfoss Power Solutions. Working within the Validation & Verification (V&V) Labs team, you'll help ensure engineering teams have timely access to prototype parts, test equipment, laboratory infrastructure, and supplier support needed to deliver successful development programs.

Your work will directly influence laboratory uptime, testing efficiency, and project execution by building strong supplier partnerships, supporting procurement activities, and helping develop new testing capabilities. Through close collaboration with engineering teams, suppliers, and global stakeholders, you'll contribute to accelerating product development while driving operational excellence within the V&V laboratory environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and manage a reliable supplier ecosystem for prototype components, test equipment, engineering services, and laboratory infrastructure to support product development activities.
• Lead procurement and sourcing activities for both CAPEX and OPEX requirements, ensuring the timely availability of materials, equipment, and services needed for testing and validation projects.
• Coordinate maintenance, calibration, AMC contracts, and vendor support activities to maximize laboratory uptime and ensure uninterrupted testing operations.
• Partner with engineering teams to source prototype parts, custom fixtures, tooling, automation solutions, and test systems that support Innovation & Development projects.
• Monitor supplier performance, project budgets, lead times, and delivery commitments while driving continuous improvement in procurement effectiveness and laboratory operations.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8-10 years of experience supporting engineering prototyping, strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier development, or V&V laboratory operations.
• Proven experience sourcing prototype components, test equipment, laboratory infrastructure, maintenance services, and engineering-related requirements.
• Strong background in supplier identification, supplier development, commercial negotiations, and vendor performance management.
• Hands-on experience with SAP and procurement processes, including purchase order management and CAPEX/OPEX purchasing activities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across global teams and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with hydraulic products and systems, engineering test laboratories, prototype development, machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing environments will be advantageous. Familiarity with Power BI reporting, inventory tracking, spend analysis, and laboratory infrastructure development is also beneficial.
