Job summary

MAHLE India is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to manage CNC machining electrical systems and drive uptime across grinding, turning, and HMC/VMC operations. You will troubleshoot PLCs, servo and drive systems, read electrical drawings, and coordinate with OEMs to implement improvements.

The role requires a BE/B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics or Diploma, 5–7 years in CNC maintenance, and exposure to IATF 16949 and TPM practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma with relevant experience.
• 5–7 years in electrical maintenance of CNC machining operations or similar industries.
• Experience in automotive component manufacturing (camshafts, crankshafts, precision parts).
• Knowledge of grinding, turning, milling, induction hardening, crack detection processes.
• IATF 16949, TPM, Kaizen, RCA and reliability engineering familiarity.
• Experience leading maintenance teams and coordinating with contractors.
• Additional certifications in industrial automation, PLC programming, electrical safety or reliability engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Electrical maintenance management for machining shop systems to maximize uptime.
• Perform preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance on CNC machines and drives.
• Diagnose electrical, electronic and control faults; implement corrective actions.
• Read and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic; support Siemens, Fanuc and Mitsubishi systems.
• Coordinate with OEMs and suppliers for issue resolution; manage spare parts inventory.
• Plan preventive maintenance schedules and document machine history in SAP.
• Analyze breakdown trends and drive continuous improvement actions.
• Identify electrical risks and escalate critical issues to Maintenance Manager.
• Lead maintenance teams and contractor activities for projects.

Your Contribution

• Electrical Maintenance Management
• Preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for all machining shop electrical systems.
• Ensure maximum machine availability, reliability, and uptime.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory requirements.
• CNC Machine Electrical Maintenance:
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of: CNC Grinding Machines, CNC Turning Centers, VMC & HMC Machines, Special Purpose Machines (SPM), etc.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical, electronic, and control system faults.
• Monitor machine health and implement predictive maintenance practices.
• CNC Control System Support
• Hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of: Siemens CNC Systems, FANUC CNC Systems, Mitsubishi CNC Systems, etc.
• Servo & Drive System Maintenance
• Maintenance of: Servo Motors, Servo Drives, VFD Drives, Spindle Drives, AC/DC Motors, etc.
• Conduct root cause analysis for drive and motion control failures.
• Improve machine reliability through condition monitoring.
• PLC, HMI & Automation Systems
• Support and maintain: PLC Systems, HMI Systems, SCADA Systems, etc.
• Industrial Communication Networks
• Sensors and Instrumentation

• Maintain risk logs and follow up with teams on mitigation actions.
• Escalate critical issues to the Maintenance Manager.
• Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers for timely resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

Your Experience And Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Electrical Maintenance of CNC Machining Operations, Automotive Components, Heavy Engineering, or Manufacturing Industries.
• Experience in automotive component manufacturing such as Camshafts, Crankshafts, and Precision Machined Components.
• Sound knowledge of Grinding, Turning, Milling, Induction Hardening, and Crack Detection Processes.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, TPM, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, and Reliability Engineering.
• Experience in managing maintenance teams and contractor activities.
• Additional certifications in Industrial Automation, PLC Programming, Electrical Safety, TPM, or Reliability Engineering will be preferred.

Minimum Requirements

Hands-on experience with Siemens, FANUC, Mitsubishi, and Marposs systems. Strong troubleshooting capability in CNC machine electrical systems. Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, Servo Drives, VFDs, Industrial Networks, and Sensors. Ability to read electrical drawings, control circuits, ladder logic, etc.

Experience with: Junker Grinding Machines, TOYODA Grinding Machines, Landis Grinding Machines, MAZAK Machines, Makino HMC/VMC Machines, EFD Hardening Equipment, Crack Detection Systems, etc.

Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Advanced Excel, Data Management, PowerPoint Presentations, and SAP.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and convey information to stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and management. Fluent in spoken and written English.

Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple processes simultaneously.

Proven ability to handle multiple responsibilities and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
